@Myoldnamesdontwork I haven't played the first game but you can choose between a warrior type, a rogue and a sorcerer. The expansion added in monk, barbarian and bard, though you had to do a little computer magic to get access to the barbarian and bard.

@KainScuzzer he stays a few weeks man. Deckard Cain has a line in D2 where he says that he slowly lost his mind and woke up in horrible nightmares until a deep depression took root.. can't see it happening in 2 days.
@Zeiknox the diablo lore is great : The warrior was the son of leoric, named aldric??(i dunno 100%) and after he kills diablo he tries 2 jail the soulstone in himself ( i didnt watched the video here so if i say something that comes in this video sorry) - after 2 DAYS !! - aldric loses already against diablo and begins to seek the soulstone of baal - where he meets marius (from the d2 movies). the rouge from d1 is bloodraven btw. which u fight in d2 on act 1 :P

In Diablo III , he is stated to be the other son of King Leoric, Aidan. I didn't know this since I did not play it yet^^ In Diablo 1&2 there is no information about the warrior being Leoric's son
@Veggis92 Nope, Leoric's son was Diablo's vessel in Diablo 1. Dark Wanderer in Diablo 2 was the character we used in Diablo1(even if you played a class other than warrior, Dark Wanderer is the warrior)
if anyone ever played DIABLO 1 on the Playstation there is an option that is not in the PC Version of the Game, There is a Button that Enters you in so a Selection of Books about the Story before the first Game, About The King and his young Son that was infected by diablos soul stone, about the War between Angels and Demons and all the Lords (Diablo, Baal and the others, you recommend you guys to have a look in to a PSX Copy of Diablo, its Not a Feature you need to unlock its in Main Menu. :)

The Wanderer, possessed by Diablo tries to remove the soulstone in Tal'Rashas chest to free Baal but gets stopped by Tyrael. During the struggle between Diablo and Tyrael Baal tries to convince Marius, a companion of the wanderer, to remove the soulstone and does so, releasing Baal.
The two brothers, Diablo and Baal now travels to Travincal for Diablo to regain his true shape.
After the two brothers gets slain and gets their corrupted soulstones destroyed, only one stone remains in Marius hands.
Mephisto was imprisoned under Travincal under guard by the Children of the Zakarum, but later corrupted them and made them kill their leader. The strongest became his host and once Mephisto had Travincal under control he sent Lazarus to conspire in Tristram and aid Diablo.
Diablo now wandering the desert within the wanderer has the mission of setting free Baal who is imprisoned in Thal'Rashas body within one of his many tombs, guarded by Tyrael.

People complaining about the pronunciation have issues. It's a fantasy world, it's not like "Lachdanan" is in the dictionary. For me, the pronunciation was as good as it can be.

The son is lured by Lazarus into the labyrinth, and a search for the prince starts the events of Diablo 1. This young prince is the possessed dude that we see at the end of Diablo 1

This is a great video series that I've found very enlightening, but you guys are really taking your time. No offense, but I feel like this video could have come out long ago. It's just one guy narrating a slideshow of clips and videos that are readily available to the public. =/

People complaining about the pronunciation have issues. It's a fantasy world, it's not like "Lachdanan" is in the dictionary. For me, the pronunciation was as good as it can be.

@TitanREW Like explained in the video, Diablo cannot fully possess the king therefore he set for Leoric's youngest son. The son is lured by Lazarus into the labyrinth, and a search for the prince starts the events of Diablo 1. This young prince is the possessed dude that we see at the end of Diablo 1
