Miller had a certain rhythm and preciseness to her choreo and more difficult tumbling. I still love Campi's style and think she and Miller were the best gymnasts in terms of style and elegance that year.
In my opinion this was without a doubt the best American gymnast on BB AT THESE CHAMPIONSHIPS. However, they had to inflate Kim Zmeskal and Betty Okino's scores to get them into the AA and EF. An obvious injustice within the USA team.
When people praise Shannon Miller and Nastia Liukin...I think they should think twice and glorify MICHELLE CAMPI IN TERMS OF RAVISHING FORM, COMPOSITION AND FLUIDITY.
I don't think it's fair to compare codes, but I do agree that Nastia's flexibility and overall line are better than Campi's. Nonetheless, Campi was fluid and graceful and she Miller were the best in that department on this team.
Except for Shannon Miller, she was by far the most talented, graceful and stylistic of the US women of that time. It's too bad that she had so much bad luck and bad timing, otherwise she would have rightfully won more competitions.
I agree. I have to say though. I just finished watching the 91 US trials, and while I feel Woolsey shouldnt have been on the team, I think Crandall looked better than Grivich on bars and vault. She was weaker on floor, and less consistent on beam, although she had a great routine. I also thought Crandall was better in compulsaries overall. I would have put Crandall on over Grivich, but looking back, I am happy Grivich had that opportunity to compete in Indy. THe US judges nailed her in 92OT
who was her coach?

this routine is so boring. just 2 layout step-outs, a dismount, and some fluff filler jumps

@benrobinson77 She greatly improved this routine in 1992, adding another layount and a beautiful arabesque landing out of a leap

Michelle was gorgeous but Nastia Liukin she is not - especially when you consider how many skills Nastia has to do compared to this routine.
