Congratulations! For a young person I think you have really grasped a key argument at the heart of this matter with a remarkable amount of maturity.
The anti-porn lobby maintains that ANY sexual expression by women outside the narrow confines of their personal moral/religious views is the result of "abuse" and should be exterminated.
Personally I find this draconian at best and at worst demeaning and downright insulting.

What might change your mind is if you do enter into sexual relationships with men. A lot of women in relationships with men can see how pornography influences men. Many have had to deal with being pressured to do things we absolutely don't want to do. This doesn't make sex positive for women who don't enjoy being degraded. And because porn has normalized this behavior many guys say things like, "everyone does it." etc to make women feel ashamed for not wanting to have degrading sex.

I also wanted to point out that I have no problem with any kinds of sexuality people express in the privacy of their own homes but once they put it into video - it becomes public and once something is public, it can affect people's attitudes. It would be incredibly different if women weren't mostly on the receiving end of degredation. THAT is what makes it sexist. If men were licking poop off of things too - than it wouldn't seem so sexist.

How do you know if someone is expressing their own sexuality if they are being paid to do certain things? Women in porn are ACTING. They are providing material for men. Men want degarding stuff. They only way a porn actress can make it big, is if she's willing to do degrading things and act like they like it. my father was a bonified pornography addict and I've seen first hand how it can destroy people's lives (and it is the degrading element in pornography that makes insecure men become addicted to it). Don't believe me? Read up on some of the stories other porn addicts have written about. Maybe then you would understand why this issue is important to me.

I understand what you're saying, but the way to speak against the way sex is presented in porn is not to belittle her sexuality, it's to show women that they can be sexual and feel pleasure in whatever way they want, as opposed to just saying that Sasha Grey has an unhealthy and unnatural sexuality.

You misunderstood. That was meant to be an example of the sex positive outlook I've been raised with.
I was about to say something along the lines of "taught about human sexuality in a healthy positive and accepting way" but ended up rephrasing it mid sentence.
I never meant to insinuate those two experiences would be the same, I was trying to give an example of something that would normally be upsetting for a child to see, but didn't negatively affect me.
I hope this clears some things up.

There's a belief among porn-industry insiders that many of the women in porn were abused as children. Here's one citation to that effect:

You make some good points, G. Issues of sex and sexuality are rarely as clear-cut as we might like them to be.
If I might offer some constructive criticism, though, it seems like you start recording with only a vague idea of what you're going to say. Not that you need to make a script or anything, but I think it would help if you at least set out for yourself the points you wanted to touch on in order. It would make the whole thing a bit more focused, I think.

I agree with you about the commentary on the video about Sasha Grey, although I really think she has an unhealthy sexuality. I also don't think what she does is something children should be exposed to. There's a difference between maybe enjoying a little pain or power games in sex and focusing your whole sexuality around it.
I'm not anti nudity or anti being very open about sexuality, our society really isn't open about it enough, I want to make that clear.

I think there is a big difference between seeing your mother naked and seeing her naked while she's being electrocuted by men who are beating her and calling her a slut.
Being a fetish is not a defense against behavior that society needs to prohibit and look down on and extreme violence is one of them. There are people who connect sex with murder but we wouldn't defend it because if it was widespread, it would cause serious damage. This is no different.

A person inflicting a tiny scratch on you without your consent is violent, but a doctor slicing open your abdomen is not. You set a very dangerous precedent in judging morality by actions that people willingly submit to, even which you yourself would feel uncomfortable undergoing. And if you don't understand the difference between reality and fantasy to begin with, trying to reason with you is pointless.
