@joshuancts She was pretty wealthy. I don't think I need to say anymore then that. Oh wait probably...ok for you. No she didn't, you made that up....your an idiot.
@Sumdude54 Whelp, I guess I'm an idiot with the facts. Furthermore she smoked 2 packs a day and said the negative government info on tobacco was bullshit conspiracy and govt should back off tobacco industry. She got lung cancer when she was 69...needed lung surgery and applied for medicare as well. Sometimes ideology gets whipped by reality.
@joshuancts Seeing how that is true there is not much I can say, besides the fact that what she does is none of my concern. It just seemed like another person out to get Ayn rand was making up pointless facts that hardly have any relevance to her underline message, just to denounce her and trying to portray other objectivists under the same light. In my opinion she took up a bad habit that is self-destructive that was her folly her using medicare was her surrendering to what the world was then.

Ayn Rand was an atheist. She based her thoughts on total objectivity. Objectivity in the final analysis is incapable of providing any basis, moral or otherwise, for living our life. We, as society, must decide what we value. Only after defining our basic axiomatic values can we build objective policies on top. Ayn seems ignores many human values, and is ultimately blind to the "why" question. Simple Darwinistic survival can't be the goal.
@cheetah100 How about human integrity? How about freedom?how about the human spirit in context to human goals, triumphs and progression? None of these are important to you? The question "why" is pointless it has no meaning and expects us to go know where in life which is what people are blindly excepting, so they could sacrifice the self for the collective. No I and you and everyone else must decide as an individual to what is value through rationality, and logic if you truly understand her.
Great message, on point; I've noticed, however, that many of these presenters are waving their hands in a distracting, unnecessary fashion. Just stand still! Your eyes are all that are needed to convey your expression.
@eaodak Are you referring to my eyes? Do you have a camera installed in my computer? Anyone who knows me can tell you that my eyes twinkle, sparkle, and are alive with intelligent thoughts; futherrmore, I detest cults, groups, organizations, and any body of people that think they know better than I do what's best for me.
@billyguns2 Was "Great message, on point; I've noticed, however, that many of these presenters are waving their hands in a distracting, unnecessary fashion. Just stand still! Your eyes are all that are needed to convey your expression." referring to yourself? It sounded like you were talking about one of those Ayn Rand Institute douche bags... I can see their eyes....
BTW: If you have a webcam that's uncovered....someone is watching you.
Very good message. I hope more people see it! Good job!
A note to the speaker: don't take this the wrong way, but it was kinda hard to concentrate on what you were saying because my attention was really taken by your (consciously or not, amazingly faithful) mimicking of Dr. Brook's expressions in every level.
By the way, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong about expressing yourself like he does. It is just that it can be a distraction to this audience.
Finally a moral defense of our individual rights. It is important folks really get that this is a moral crisis and that we must fight to preserve our freedom.
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. -- Sir Winston Churchill
@DanBellevueDude Winston Churchill was an asshole. Want to cut Rand to ribbons? Just look at the party of complete and unmitigated douche bags that subscribe to her drivel. Reagan, LeVay and Freidman.... Nuff said.
People aren't starving in America, capitalism produces wealth. Socialism doesn't last and it produces starvation and hoarding of wealth. Look at Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany. Legalize Capitalism!

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be capitalism, however I believe that the government should provide the bare minimum to live if they cannot provide it themselves. Currently it is possible to get food so we're fine with that. I was more so just playing as devil's advocates because it's always good to have an opposing opinion. I think capitalism is a pretty good system to be honest.
Yea...it doesn't work...it only created the necessary conditions for the industrial revolution. But I suppose like all good socialists you believe we were better off in the Dark Ages with a feudal lord. One man's success is not a threat to another man's life. There is plenty of wealth to go around for those who wish to earn it. Nothing comes unearned. Someone pays the cost of effort that creates all wealth. Fact of reality. Because you want wealth to come from nowhere does not make it so.
@ShoelessLlama "But I suppose like all good socialists you believe we were better off in the Dark Ages with a feudal lord." i'm sorry, I need a Judges Ruling here. Are you suggesting that Feudalism and Socialism are similar, much less one and the same?!?
Is there a School for the Stupid that turns you people out????
Excellent video! I hope it reaches a wide audience and helps give the tea party protesters - and all defenders of capitalism - a sound moral foundation.
Great job ARI and ARC! Keep these things coming. Can't wait for the next VDO. I've studied, and lived by, Objectivism for the last 40 years. I'm now 61 years old and I STILL get goose bumps when Ayn Rand is quoted (in the positive). It's like entering a geat cathedral... as opposed to the mud hut, sound and mind deadening, self-sacrifical bog that is the world-as-it-is. Objectivism IS the world-as-it-ought-to-be... and it's my HALLELUJAH. It's man fullfilled. It won't be given it up to a zero.
Congratulations for adding to the widespread exposure of the thinking and ideas of Ayn Rand, of Objectivism, and of reason. The powerful communicative tools available through the internet are the secret to the successful revolution in human culture promised in these principles. Thank you!

Imagine what the ARI would be capable of had they spent the last 20 years seriously considering the question of what to do with it's newfound political influence instead of just winging it.
That's the sad part. The disgusting part is that they should have known it would come. If not for in-fighting, sequatiousness, and evasion, we'd be seeing something alot better than this diappointing string of recent videos and Yaron Brook kissing up to Glen Beck.
More to the point: What are you doing as a voter and a possible political player to change things for the better, with the aid of the information from ARI, which is the same as it has been for the last 50 years, except for the channels available to propagate their information. The Glenn Beck Show, being one example.
ARI has no political influence, even now, and especially not in the past.
What evasion? Yes, there should have been no in-fighting; the ones who started the fighting are now boycotted and they shouldn't have wasted ARI's time and money to begin with. Dr. Brook has never violated any moral principles by going on Beck's show or writing in his magazine.
I mean, if by political influence, you mean, that Objectivists indirectly determine legislation or any sort of government action. That is clearly not the case.
Glenn Beck actually values freedom, so he gets my sanction.. besides his show lately has been basically one guy (himself) screaming at how crazy all the current policies are in some way or another on mainly practical grounds.
"... When you see that in order to produce, you need permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see men get richer by graft and pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that our society is doomed."
