@energyimpuls The silencer is a gun mod, and it can be bought from the gun runners, or (I find) the arms merchant at the 188 trading post. If it's not there though, just go to the gun runners and wait (pressing select) for 3 days, because the gun runners items cycle and change every 3 days. It should be under the misc. section.

@TheLegacyGunner Well armor piercing bullets reduce the DT of the enemy by 15 and all the deathclaws in the quarry except for the babies have 15 DT. Not to mention if you actually watched the video I didn't have any hollow point ammo to use.

Mate you dont need fancy guns, just a hunting rifle with a scope and some armour piercing ammo will do. The trick is to get to high ground and a little patience and you dont need companions. 50+ GUNS SKILL will help.

The Tesla Cannon is pretty good against deathclaws I only have about 25-30 Energy Weapons Skill and a Guns Skill of 77 it deals for me 41 DAM and another +20 (2 secs) (so altogether 81 damage) you can get one at the Brotherhood of Steel Safehouse it's in very bad condition but don't get somebody to repair it because it will cost about 10,000 caps instead get 50 Repair and make lots of Weapon Repair Kits they repair by about 15-20% each time and the stuff u need to make one costs like 100 caps.

@tehrealjake Urmm dont know about a set map location of one, but if your near the end of the story veteran NCR soldiers start to spawn and if your a high enough level they will carry the Anti material rifle, at that point the Gun runners sold it. Well they did for me! :)

I'd just recommend staying out in the distance with a .50 cal and AP rounds. Get direct headshots and take your time. Companions just get in the way. You can kill every single deathclaw without being detected EXCEPT with a possiblity of the Deatclaw Mother.

The pro mode way of doing this however - Stealthboy.

what really makes me laugh about fallout is that you can shoot somebody in the face with a .50 cal round and have them shake it off like it's nothing. This is actually a pretty good quarry run though, you barely got hit. I get hit by like every deathclaw at least once =P

Rex gives you a perk that shows location of unequipped weapons, food and chems.

ED-E gives you a perk that... I don't know.

Lily gives you the stealth girl perk, Stealth boys are 200% longer and sneak is risen by 15%

Arcade Gannon gives you a perk which increases Hit Points and how much you are healed by Stimpaks.

@TheThunderUnicorn yup, im pretty sure that any gun with that style scope on it requires 100 gun skill to be steady enough to pull off long shots. if you prefer energy weapons the gauss rifle is also a great way to do this and it only needs 75 energy weapon skill to be as steady as possible

Hollow point bullets will be fucking useless against Deathclaws. Their DT is something like, 600 and their health is 150.

i did this while i was level 20 at the great khan encampment trying to make the khans ncr. when i got there i saw the mother deathclaw standing by a small ridge. i started taking shots with the gobi campaign rifle and chipping away at her health. she didn't know where we were until boone decided to charge. she knocked him unconscious and returned to her ridge. i got her down to three bars left when one of her babies came behind me. shot its head clean off. unfortunately the mother saw it.

This is very nice, and I am sure very difficult. But anyone can snipe enemies. I found it fun as hell to shoot em with 12g sand bags. 2 immobilizes them and then you just blast em in the head with reg 12g shells. I was on medium/hardcore mode. I was level 16 and became 17 doing this.
