holy cow! i went to school with tim. i don't think he knew me. i had a band called the del tones at red bank catholic. always loved the song. thought it should have been a hit. (by the way it was released in 1959, i heard it on WMGM on the Peter Tripp show) imagine my surprise when i bought a manhatten transfer LP and saw a picture of the criterions on the back cover. thanks for the memories Tim where ever you are. I was 2 years old at the time in 1959, however I was exposed to this music through my parents, they always had music on in the house. Thanks for posting, and Thanks Mom and Dad for giving me an appreciation for music.

Great choice. I believe Tommy West of the 60's

group, Cashman, Pistilli & West and later in the

70's group, Cashman & West, was also a member

of the Criterions. Maybe it's him singing lead?

This exquisite gem indeed came out in 1959, and was a small hit in NYC. Tim Hauser founded the group, but apparently is not the lead singer (I don't know his name)> Thanks for posting this; Ihave the 45, but haven't played it in a few months, and finding this here put a smile on my day!

The Criterions are one of those groups that had a few real good songs that never went anywhere on the charts but were very good. They are from Belmar, NJ and Tim Hauser from Manhattan Transfer was in this group..
