You are saying he should listen to god more, and thats exactly what he is saying he is doing right in the song! They do listen to their own songs, if they didn't know what they were about there could be no way for them to put so much emotion into their lyrics. Don't judge people based on your misconceptions of their lyrics
"You said I know that this will hurt, but if I don't break your heart, then things will just get worse." Why don't they listen to their own songs? Maybe he would understand why his fiance broke it off better if he just listened to God... Please pray for him.
