jcshirke, Lou did a ground-up redesign to add verb to the complete t-lux circuit.
Only two minor "shortcomings." (1) Reverb not footswitchable, which I miss. But it's well tuned and doesn't degrade tone or feel when dialed out. (2) Reverb introduced slight white noise I'd like to be able to eliminate eventually. But it's only audible when recording, at idle, or playing at home at low volume.
Love this amp! So, so musical. Will update my TGP thread soon with my attempt at some clips.
So, did you give up the tremolo so Lou could add reverb, or does your amp have both trem and reverb? Did you have to give anything up to get reverb? I'm asking b/c mine is a stock model.
This is my amp! After a long build process and a delivery to the wrong address, I really really excited to get my hands on it for the first time this weekend.
GrooveyRecords, Lou's Tremblelux is a slightly tweaked replica of the Fender 5G9 Tremolux. Both the original and Lou's replica only have tremolo (really GREAT tremolo). But I love tube reverb in Fender amps, and Lou was willing to break the mold and designed this one for me.
Nice how he goes into Roy Buchanan's "The Messiah Will Come Again". Cool.
