@longboardmaniac2547 the acrylic globe loses a lot of its structural integrity once you cut the mouth out. My original attempt did not work because the mouth cracked at the corners. The super glaze is acrylic based which is what the globe is made of. It reinforces the helmet adding rigidity and strength, preventing the cracking.

@NGSxHDxFLAR3S frys electronics $5 each, I think radio shack has them also, but about $7 each. You cant use the leds they come with though, they are not bright enough. I got a pack of 25 leds for about $5 from amazon. They are 15,000 mcd (brightness) where as the ones that came with the kit are only about 23 mcd. Yes thats right from 23, to 15,000 mcd.

Any light-weight materials you used to cut down the overall weight? I used an acrylic globe, the white foam you can get at art stores and it was still like 8-12lbs. Any way you know to cut the weight w/o compromising the whole thing?

@jirara23 mine weighs just over 6 pounds. Anything I could do to save weight I did. I stripped all the electronics down to bare bones just about.

@TroiaandStarke hand formed it. Once you paint the mesh you can form it and it won't crease very easily unless you really try to.
