did anyone watch tonight's episode (18th jan) after Satish Kumar's natural world? Would you rather the peace of nature or the purgatory of guilt and redemption through prayer? what brilliant programmes! brigitta
I loved the first one - my only nag is that the depiction and exploration of Buddhism should perhaps have been more than just the Shaolin school(s). After all, most Buddhists don't practice martial arts but perhaps master the body through breathing, meditation and detachment rather than grueling physical practices. cont.....
He must have been made to stay with the Shaolin for 1 year at least with a much longer style documentary, but hes a pussy. Such a shame, because he was doing so well.
ahahah
Man -"Are we meditating now?"
Monk - "I'm not meditating.. I'm getting my picture taken"
brilliant XD

you might be able to see this on the BBC iplayer. you've got seven days to download it. might be a good way for you to see it.

Dear BBC,
I missed Friday's Extreme Pilgrim, and as I don't have a fancy set-top box with a hard drive I've had to try looking for it online.
To my great surprise there's only trailers on the BBC website - and likewise here.
Why can't I see the whole thing on the internet?
(In my opinion there should be even more content online than gets shown on TV, outtakes and longer film sequences and so on.)

Many thanks for that - I've just watched the desert episode myself!

Wow...I was just going to type the exact same message! Does anyone know when the repeats will air?

For example, he could have explored the physical (extreme pilgrimage) of just sitting and being still which most describe as difficult.
That gripe aside... really glad to see this kind of content on the TV... they should do more comparative religious programmes. :)
