  • nice schreen i got the same one samsung syncemaster i like it

  • does it matter what motherboard you have to overclock or can i just use someone elses settings?

  • Dont jump from the stock clock staight up to where u were at 1900 FSB. do it in stages making sure u are stable at each. Id say try go to 2.6ghz, then 2.8ghz, 2.9 thn 3.0. Make sure u turn off all the spread spectrums, turn of C1E, speedstepping and anything else that can adjust the CPU speed. Going slow is best, I left the voltages on auto, and then from what it used i kept lowering it manually till it bluw screen thn went back up 1 notch.

  • i have the same cpu...take a look...

at stock 2.33ghz...runs stable at 1.1V vcore..

    at 2.8 ghz...stable at 1.23V vcore..( 4 hours prime95)...and at 3.3ghz..i set the vcore 1.33V and stable....all these on air...bye friend..my mobo...es asus p5k se

  • I got same motherboard and Cpu than you I overclocked it to 3.4 witht he stock fan with no prob at 45C while playing game, Great Cpup for overclocking

  • mmm...i have the same cpu...and.. stock (2.33) I low the vcore to 1.1 V...stable...and in 2.8 ghz.. the vcore is set to 1.23V stable 4 hours sandra....and 3.2 vcore 1.33 stable...all these on air....mother: asus p5k se....4gb..etc etc...i thouth y cuold help....zr for my english....

  • I have a evga 780i FTW with a q9400.. when i first put this together i had overclocked it to 3.4 and it was stable.. that lasted for about a week then it started to hang up then i got the blue screen of death.. so now everything is at stock speed and works just fine.. but if i try to OC it agian it just hang's up.. even the slight OC, it wont even go to 2.9. any help you may have for me would be great..

  • the same prob i have with the p7n sli platinum......there is somthing wrong with the fsb setting........another question:

do you disabled intel speedstep/c1e support???

  • at 5:40 its called spread spectrum control, it'll solve that problem

  • wtf? lol

  • please dont be mean i just wanna know what is overclocking im good with computers but no one has ever told me what overclocking is

  • Also disabling the spread spectrum and Intel SpeedStep settings helps. And bump up the Northbridge voltage before messing with the Processor VCore voltage. I have my Vcore set at "Auto" and my NB voltage bumped up to 1.40 I think?? Anyway it's been stable for months at a bit over 3 Ghz.

I couldn't OC my RAM very much on this 650i however. 820 Mhz is the best I could do with 4-4-4-12 timings.

  • I have that exact same processor installed in a 650i motherboard. I OC'd to 3.062 Ghz with a FSB OC of 1752. It's the highest OC I could get stable. There are alot of FSB holes with this board I notieced. Many LOWER frequencies I tried and the system wouldn't post. My mem is running unlinked with a 16:15 ratio.

Oh well it's stable and thats all that matters.

  • I have a Q6600 @ 3GHz 1333FSB atm, can get it to 3.2 with 8x multiplier but hasnt been stable at that speed with 1600 FSB, I think PSU is letting me down. However the same issue happens to me with the CPU underclocking, it will goto 2.14 or 2.0GHz if something is wrong (2.4GHz default)

  • wow... that's seriously scary... you were trying to run it at 1900...i hope you did't end up damaging your system.

  • must better click auto safe it robot. u can own high ghz cpu or other stupid can cause damge fire motherboard burn. if u want high speed better liquer cooler socket can high cpu fast safe.

  • Ok, well umm WOW?

No, boards underclocking themselves is common when messing with the multipliers, and core voltage frequencies.

I have an Athlon A8N-e that does the same.

  • I have mine linked (mem and fsb 1:1)

if thats what u trying set it to linked

  • Rofl to OP, i have a near identicle set up to you.

    e6550 + evga 780i + evga 8800gt sc 512.

my cpu is at 3.2 Ghz what did you get yours to?

  • you idiot you got the ns/a leds rong who told you how to do this i hope not your pap's

  • Not quite sure why your angry and acting like a child, I just posted to show you what happens, not to be *dissed* By a 12 year old.

  • Settings arent right it would seem.

Raising vcore is not the only setting to change.

    Set up your RAM timing.voltages

    Chipset voltage settings

    Disable spread spectrum

    Set PCI to 100mhz locked

Got some videos check them out.

  • Try disabling C1 and Speedstep...

PSU or memory holding u down...

    I have E6750@3.2Ghz without changing voltage...(stable)
