@JaveDMode Everything else around us also evolved. We simply evolved in a different way. We are not more evolved than anything else. Also humans have no effect on how continents move. We may yet be around in 250 million years.
This actually depresses me :'( None of us will be around to know anything. It scares me... wtf ahhh i hate this feeling i hate overthinking things >_<
So as you can see, america belonged to europe long time ago. Europeans just took it back 600 years ago :-)) But according to video, Africa is going to eat Europe and steal America from us. Wait. It's happening alreeeaaaaaadyyyyy!!!!
Good, N. Korea will be completely opposite the US.
No, but seriously folks, the theory is that, if the world's system will be allowed to continue uninterrupted, until then, humans would have been long exctinct ! How about them apples? Put that in your pipe and smoke it. (if you're a smoker, i don't know . . ) No need for human communication. How many meteors would have hit the earth by 50 million years from now? So, it's goodbye Charlie, or Rob or Jeff, Jean, Mary, etc.
No detectable land movement could be seen in the time the human evolves and goes extinct. There will be no Captain Kirk. Our ray guns are stuck on stupid and we keep shooting each other.
That was cool how India just came right out of what would become Antarctica and ran right into what would become Asia! It was on a collision course! I wonder if he got to where he wanted to go. Mabey he wants to go to the north pole! He he. Im just trying to be funny yall. I know there are alot of smart people commenting here. :-)
@DamienZshadow Yeah...about that...if the continents combine again like they did with Pangaea, only situated in a way that disrupts the sea currents from transferring warm water from the equator to land, then the Earth's core temperature will drop tremendously into another ice age. Sure, having a supercontinent makes things more convenient, but plate tectonics, prevailing winds, and sea currents have such a critical impact on the Earth's climate that a single alteration can change civilization.
@Disembow1280 Yes but in a gradual span of 250 million years, that may not be as much of a problem. Assuming the scenario predicted in the video is correct, global climate patterns would be changing gradually as fast as the tectonic plates were.
In that case many organisms would have surely adapted. If we still happen to be here, our technology should be at a point where all of that is little more than an inconvenience. Civilization will change regardless in a matter of 250 million years.
@DamienZshadow Eh, I can agree with that. I guess the only problem that could interfere with our technological advance is whenever the next glacial period is. When glaciers start coming back into the U.S., they will destroy anything in its path. Even then, there may be ways around it...
@Disembow1280 Well I doubt the U.S. or any current world powers will be in their present form if existent at all by the time glaciers will play a factor. Although we depend on a lot of these factors, most of them change at a slow enough pace to work around or not even notice. The U.S. is only a few hundred years old while history's longest living civilizations rank to a few thousand years. Human culture can't sit still for a million years without looking indistinguishable in comparison.
@Leto85 They know what happens to continents, and can calculate an approximation. Its all guess work, though educated guess work.
The thing with scientific depictions of the future is, that they're never dogmatic, but just illustrations. It's not like someone will start killing people if you happen to make a better calculation of how things will be ;)
It would be quite interesting to see these parallax images imported into 3D Studio Max, and applied to a Sphere.
