Dude wears the same shirt in all his videos haha. Nothing said by this man should be considered the final word on any topic on which he speaks. Lots of missing info. So many questions.......
@heretic30117 I use a marble threshold like you'd put in a doorway. These are precisely ground and great for verifying stuff. if the straight edge isn't flat you can glue sandpaper to it and sand the $2 straight edge nice and flat :) People need to remember that precision is important on a guitar but not to the ridiculous level that some folks try to take it. Nobody is going to feel .0001 difference in fret height :)
sorry, the fretboard in this video is in fact glued to the neck, I was thinking of the other expertvillage videos which show fretwork being done on a totally detached board.

FBI guitar ? WTF ?

You need to use a neck Jig, otherwise your fret jobs will be time consuming and so so at best.

another idiotic "expertvillage" guitar video.
no professional would use a $1.98 straight edge for fretwork, period.
also why are the fretboards in all these videos shown detached from the guitar ?
you level the fretboard AFTER it is glued down on the neck ffs ...

but you still need a proper straight edge ...

hes not leveling the frets with the straight edge. hes making sure the neck is straight before putting the frets in
