I guess you mean I NEEDED an lsd, cause the vid shows the before and after and the lsd parts I fitted. But yes - any fwd project with a power increase really needs one. Mine was just a case of limited funds dictating that things had to be improved over a period of time.

@TheRallycrossKing I use proper rally tyres with stiff sidewalls on the dirt & semi slicks on tar. lsd = limited slip differential. With a stock "open" diff you lose power to one wheel when racing, but with lsd both wheels retain bite, resulting in much better steerability and acceleration out of corners.

I bought mine second hand but as new from the USA freighted to my door for A$770, having to buy a new shaft and main diff gear as well to fit it into the DC2 Integra Vtir gearbox I fitted. That box is better because the gear ratios are closer together, which keeps the engine in the V-tec range as you change gears. Although the B20 made so much power that turned out to be of no consequence, Lsd availability will depend on which gearbox you have.

Although I do over 25 races a year I am strictly a self funded, budget car racer. Financially this car had to be developed over a number of years, which is why I had no lsd initially. However the stage III swap I'm now working on won't hit the track without a JDM box with an lsd because of the huge power its new engine will make. Having to import this box from the USA is what's holding things up at present.
