  • sounds like a very old sond <3

  • and how the hell did eddie cantor give sammy davis jr his start? stupid stupid stupid statement

  • yes this is a version of eddie cantor (from roman scandles... with lucille ball's debut). annie does a wonderful ironic version of this... eddie did this in blackface and there is no excuse for that... so all you who don't know 20th centurey history and think it is okay... screw you... not the actors' fault at the time, necessarily.

  • could have done wiyhout the bloody wings

  • The song is from the 1930s Eddie Cantor musical called Roman Scandals. Annie does an excellent cover version. Search the song on YouTube and check out the original Eddie Cantor version because it is excellent also. The song was written by Harry Warren. Eddie sings in in blackface so that will go people something else to gripe and moan about. Knowledgeable people understand blackface was a tribute to the great black singers of the time, not a racist act. Read, learn, and then talk.

  • @erniemanguy Um, you need to read your history. Blackface was not a tribute to black singers of the time. Blackface was used because theatre companies did not want to hire blacks. They were barred from the theatre, and it was also used to mock black people.

  • @SouthernNYCga Singers like Eddie Cantor and Al Jolson and Fred Astaire who did movies blackface, helped the black entertainers of the time by using them in their movies when others would not. Cantor gave Sammy Davis Jr. his start in show business. In the 1800s it was stereotyping for sure. But in the 30s and 40s movies it was used for a completely different reason. Fred Astaire paid tribute to (Bill Bojangles) Robinson in the movie Swing Time in blackface for example.

  • love the song but can it be the worst video ever??? makes no senc

  • I love her rendition, wonderful

  • calm down dears

  • err, the song is meant to be ironic

  • "Keep young and beautiful

It's your duty to be beautiful" <3

  • I think it's a good sarcastic song--a feminist statement for sure."To be loved, you'll have to be beautiful!"...Yeah..Yeah!!!!!

  • Happy Birthday Annie Lennox

  • Annie the Angel :)

  • Have a great night tomorrow what a wonderful thing to do i knew you could'nt retire it just would'nt be fair"Falling in love again:i never wanted to but;what am i to do i can't help it.

  • sencillamente FANTASTICA!!!!!!

  • 0:14

  • Thumbs up if you listen to this while you are doing your makeup.

  • This is great advice for both women AND men. In today's world..more than ever..it's all about physical beauty. Forget about brains..or romance..or money. It's all about physical beauty..with it..you can have the world..without it..the world won't have you. How pathetic the human race has become.

    Sad..but true. =(

  • @Nightbird Such a sad truth indeed friend. But, that doesn't mean we have to accept it. There are people out there that can look past such things and see what's really important.

  • Annie is a Diva!!!

  • I just love this---as i age--like it was any different at age 20-or-60-

iam still the same as when i started breathing-but the wrinkles came -and here iam.

  • Delightful!!

  • Imagine emperor Nero singing this in the amphitheatre in Naples along with Justin Beiber, both in toga and feathers by Jove.

  • This is absolutely brilliant. Amazing how she can make a feminist statement about this song without changing a word.

  • @silentalarmactivated -- agreed. I'm also in awe of the fact that anyone ever sang this and it WASN'T a feminist statement. Next time I'm tempted to complain about how men treat women, I'm gonna keep my lip zipped in honor of how much things have changed. [Then the time after that, I'm going right back to complaining : ) ]

  • @silentalarmactivated ............That comment has gone right over my head I'm afraid. Just what feminist statement would that be then. ?.

  • @happychappy12 By doing a straightfaced version of the song, in 20s style, she shows how outdated that attitude is. At least, that's one view of it.

  • @silentalarmactivated I kinda think that this song was supposed to be sarcastic in the first place... But it is nice to see that cleverly written old songs are still relevant in today's society.

  • She can sing, but this has nothing on the Eddie Cantor version.

  • HAHAHAHA...YEAH LOVE IT!!!

  • Funny that Justin Bieber should be staring at me on the left side for this song.

  • @ssotelo LOOOOL

  • That was so unexpected lol!

  • I need this video right now.... lol and to all women out there who are sick and tired of all the b.s., ROCK ON <3

  • Nothing beats the professional-grade sound of a MIDI band.

  • victoria's secret got the angel wings idea from here?

  • This song has always had a nastalgic charm to it

  • Eddie Cantor Keep Young and Beautiful is the original I think....

  • Great version!
