  • Mannn!!! Where are you?!?!

    It's beautiful up there!!

  • very nice playing. i love that you just brought your drums up a mountain; that's a very creative solution!

  • i dig how he's siting on another tom:P

  • How do you do those fast fills? It is something I would really love to learn.

  • how did you take the drums up the mountain?

  • is this legal ? xD

  • That would be amazing, doing something you love, and looking out into that great view. I imagine it would be one of the greatest feelings managable.

  • that kit is so nice, how much does it cost?

  • very good, but can I ask, why were you drumming in the mountains?

  • @Blink182EatAndSleep who wouldn't want to? that is my dream to drum in the mountains with an epic view! it's not just jamming, yeah it'd be sorta weird if you just go out there without recording, cause this is just for people that want to change things up rather than being crammed in a studio!

  • Amazing drumming. Where can I purchase a drum kit like this?

  • Here I am looking for lesbian porn fight scenes to the death featuring Justin bieber...and I stumble upon this gem of a drum shed. Good stuff!

  • @TheMistofer LOL

  • @TheMistofer

  • i can not believe how excellent that snare sounds!! great groove!!

  • excellent sound

  • awesome groove you got happenin'

im happy to see you play with your heel down, I find alot of drummers play heel up doing doubles with their toe.. do you find heel down this holds you back or gives you more possibilites for foot technique?

  • Love the outdoor setting! Nice drumming as well!

  • good drumming

  • Really love this one and thank you for posting these amazing drum video's. This guy has groove baby.

  • crazy crazy crazy. would you offer the pattern of this groove?

  • great groove !

  • One question.... Why exactly ARE you on a mountain playing drums? Are you pissing anyone off?

  • @Pandanobear: Back than I did not have a room where I could practice so I went up the mountain. There was nobody there to piss off.

  • @uwepetersen natural sound and playing drums in nature, it s great !! . nice drumming man, keep grooving ;)

  • @uwepetersen and you always had to build up your drumset?

  • el groove esta tremendo !! los pasajes malisimos.... no tienen nada que ver con el groove en si.

  • The beginning reminds me of Bill Withers' "Kissin My Love". Sweet groove man.

  • everything is amazing, but i just have a slight feeling that you're losing the timing when you do those fills. dont get me wrong, i am amazed by your skills

  • @TheStailfish I agree with you...

  • man, could you maybe shed some light on what you're doing in those fills, they all sound awesome... but too fast to follow haha, thanks

  • had so much fun listening man. nice style

  • what kind of drum kit is that thanks

  • Hey that is a cool video

  • good fluidity, but all the fills are equal, dude, includes a little more variety changing the landlord to something but slow, thus will be more interesting, or displaced simple triplets in the drum. sorry by my english, i'm from Chile (spanish language). peace.

and my translation became in google translations LOL (sorry again)

ass my professor said: A good solo, is the one that tells you a history when you listen it.

  • from the mountiains to the prairies...you rock Mr Petersen...I have the same snare...love it. I also have a 1971 4" X14" 20 lug Slingerland Piccolo Snare...I use it for Jazzy shows and the Ludwig as my reserve Cannon :)

  • Now thats Funk.

  • kit sounds pretty good, is that cam audio? what snare is that? YEa the stick bening is pretty funny!

The snare is a 13" Yamaha Stage Custom Snare.

  • @uwepetersen you mean no mics at all?? whoaa

    fine tecnique

  • that would be tight as hell to roll a blunt and go drum up in the mountains

  • awesome fills and grooving!

Can you tell me the pattern/sticking of the fill at 0:38?

    Thanks!

  • These are very fast Paradiddles. RLRRLRLL or RLLRLRR

  • @uwepetersen Thanks alot! You have a great hand technique!

  • awesome fills. I do the same kind of ones but am just starting to utilize them. I like to use them within a 1/16th note beat. Very nice playing Uwe.

  • i thought it looked like the dw bag. i didnt know it used to be through yamaha. thanks bro

  • what kind of stick bag is that?

  • Yamaha Peter Erskine self standing stick bag. It is now available from DW with an actual stand.

  • that solo on 0:38 was sick!

  • Dude, your groovin' like a son of a bitch! Sounds AWESOME!

  • mayer inspired. its good.

  • NICE. 5/5

  • What kind of set is that and where do you get one? Amazing sound! Good thing a good drummer such as yourself is handling a beauty like that! Props man

  • its a yamaha hipgig and its like 2000 dollars lol

  • I love that kick. It sounds SUPER punchy!!

  • Has a nice sound, I got a Rogers set in an Ash finish, it plays wonderful but your set is just one of a kind.

  • Groove was wonderful, but the gospel chops stuff was terrible. Not that you're bad at it, it's just a bad idea.

  • I actually couldn't disagree more. His triplets sound very clean.

  • What are you talking about? When did I say anything about any of the subdivisions not being clean?

  • Comment removed

  • Dude.... loovvveeeeee the snare, and your style is amazing.. 12/10 drumming! absolutely awesome dude! much respect!

  • i love that snare

  • AND KICK!!!! :O

  • You are way closer than you think and in some cases, it's indistinguishable. Very nice.

  • can some one explan at 1.16 ??

  • those fills for the most part i believe are 32nd notes passed around between the snare and toms with double strokes mixed w/ singles.

  • hey guy did you have a hotmail ?

    you're awesome drummer

  • you are a machine!!! I really like it

  • Quick question mate. I have a Sonor Jungle kit, (pretty much the same sizes as urs). I was just wondering what skin you use on the kick. I just can't seem to get enough deep punch out of the kick without having the skin too loose. Any suggestions? Cheers.

  • Try a clear Remo Powerstroke4 head.

  • Cheers, I'll try that.

  • Actually, I used to own one of the hipgig kits (had to sell it for rent) and I was surprised that an Aquarian superkick 1 fit on the bass drum and gave it a very nice low end!

  • cool this groove!!! awesome

  • I love the hi-hat technique your using, I have heard others do it and it always sounds great, does it have a name?

  • Same question :P

I got my hipgig one month ago. Its awsome. Love the sound. I got mine for about $1000. It's the Rick Marotta signature, tho. ($1000 in Norway is real fkn cheap for this little diamond! :D)

  • its the moeller technique without the third stroke or can at least be done this way.

  • Hey man nice playing

how much are one of those yamaha hipgig sets?

they like a good option for me lol

  • very nice.

  • yamaha?

  • Yamaha Hipgig

  • I don´t speak english very well, thanks, very very good playing, I´m guitar player and I wanna start playing drums. I liked your drum set and it sound awesome

  • Man keep at it. The black ppl statement totally false an immature. Sounds like a dumbass to me. Keep at it dude. U got war alot of haters wish they had

  • nice!

  • Really nice playing! You lose a bit of tempo sometimes though, but really nice grooving :)

  • in the description you say "Trying out my gospel chops, but I am far from playing like these guys." So what everyone is wondering is, who are "these guys"?

  • GUYS WHO PLAY GOSPEL. BLACK PEOPLEEE

  • ... and white and yellow and red and brown and green people.

  • neverrrr

  • ps teach me how to do fills like that. :(

  • gospel chops guys, isnt that very clear in the sentence? its so funny stupid PC people think he is referring to blacks, only blacks play gospel music? . anyways going past the stupidity, great drumming.

  • can hum the mario brothers theme for a while there in the beginning haha i love how my drumming brain works

  • very nice!

  • Where THE HECK IS THIS FOO ATT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Los Angeles National Forrest Santa Clarita Valley, CA

  • The fills are definitely gospel, but I would classify the beat as gospel. Nevertheless, very nice tight pocket grooves!

  • Peterson I would say your closer than you think (:

  • Thanks, but closer to what?

  • To playing like these guys, i assume...

  • Thank you, I finaly got it. My brain is working slower than my hands lol lol lol

  • SICKKKKK

  • Very good man, congratulations

  • i love your drumming....!!!

  • So basically pugudas and paradiddles? What meter are those in? Some sound like 9s... Or just 6s?

    So it's R l l R l r l l, Viceversa rudiment?Sounds like you're also rocking a R l l r r L, R l l r r L, pattern... Quick 6s?

  • First of all, I love the feel you achieve...very smooth groove there man. Way cool. Second, what a great venue! I love it! Keep playing man, you've got some really nice chops. You might get a kick out of my "old school" jazz solo clips on here as well. Good job! 5 stars all the way!
