  • i especially love how his voice sounds in this one

  • gr8

  • I live in Missiouri :)

  • @SuperRockfrog Ludo just makes us all awesomer :DD

  • I AM A HOT TOE PICKER.

  • Used this song to minister at my church on Sunday, and I ended up getting 6 people led to Christ! :D Total fan of Ludo..

  • i found jesus on a billboard in st. loius on a sunday afternoon

  • I found god in an old book passed down from generation to generation, closed the book, set it down, never found him agian :] -is agnostic- LOL

  • Interesting...I clicked this song cuz, judging by the title I thought it might have been one of their funnier songs [I blame Fosters XD] I wasn't expecting the serious but...I love it all the same, Ludo does not disappoint

  • I burnt the !@#$ outta myself on a catalytic converter in Kentucky in the morning light.

I guess I should have gone inside. Perhaps that's where God hangs out. Kinda hot, though. I would've chosen my perch atop the accumulator. XD Srsly though, LOVE this song.

  • When I first read the title, I thought it said Togepi, like the Pokemon. xD

  • I find it funny that people are complaining about the "religious message" of this song, when in reality the song was written about a time when the band's van broke down in Topeka. Tim wrote this song, pretty much with a sort of "keep your chin up, don't let anything keep you down" sort of song.

  • I can't believe I've never heard of you guys before! This is such a good song!!

  • Favorite Ludo song!

  • @Crumplepunch Ludo plays an extremely wide variety of music. I suppose I could go on "The Lamb and the Dragon" and ask what such a terrible piece of shit was doing in Ludo's playlist, but that would be dumb because I LOVE that song and also because it's by Ludo :P

  • @rayquaza7996 I liked The Lamb and the Dragon in it's context; it features the Christian apocalypse as part of a larger rock opera about time travel, and the narrator is implied to have defeated Satan using pterodactyls. That is all sorts of awesome.

This, not so much. It's just kind of... preachy. The bit about those who haven't found god having "infected hearts"? That's downright unsettling as a message.

  • @Crumplepunch I just love Lamb and the Dragon. I mean DAMN the guitar there is good. And pterodactyls killing Satan is SO F*ing AWESOME. I believe "infected heart" is talking about the character's lifestyle ("you obsess over the future, do you think you'll get away from the past?"), not his religious beliefs. However, I am a master of Extremely Odd Interpretations (goddamn 8th grade english taught me that everything is a metaphor),

  • @rayquaza7996 I read Satan as santa..

  • @Crumplepunch It's neither sanctimonious nor Christian, though. It uses Christian terms, as many people are familiar with them, to tell a story of someone coming to a realization that they're allowed to get over anything that happened in the past, and be no worse of a person for said things.

I'm not even religious, and I enjoy the symbolism.

  • @Crumplepunch In reality, this song doesn't have too much to do with religion. It was written about a time when the band's van broke down in Topeka. It uses religious terms to convey that people shouldn't let their past keep them down, and should try to remain positive even in times of chaos and uncertainty. That everyone has done bad things, but still have their life to live and should try to keep a positive outlook.

  • Loveee it<3

  • WOOHOO Mid Missouri!!! <3

  • @ThamyaKaroline: I seriously doubt they stole the line from Oscar Wilde and took credit. I'm pretty sure is supposed to be a quote or a homage.

  • Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future is actually a quote by Oscar Wilde. This song ripped a great poet off.

  • @ThamyaKaroline There is no problem with a band quoting a great poet. The problem is with people who are too stupid to know where the quote is from. Ludo is certainly not in the wrong though for using his words.

  • @ThamyaKaroline

many people quote poets in songs and everyday life..........

  • I just saw a clip of Stephen Fry in one of those extra short segments from A Bit Of Fry and Laurie and he was saying that he tried to commit suicide so he locked himself in the garage with his car, but the car had a catalytic converter so he awoke 7 hours later with a slight headache. Had to listen to this song after that. Has a lot more meaning to me now.

  • @hatorigirl1202 that does give it a lot more meaning

  • Whats with you guys arguing like a buncha five year olds, this is meant for comments about the song or relating to it, people being little bitches like you guys just ruins it for everyone else.

  • IT'S HOT IN TOPEKA.

  • @PlanetIrks Someone had to say it.

  • @kanitalynnjohnto I know, right? XD

  • @PlanetIrks Don't forget about the showers in Spokane.

  • 3 people didn't find god in a cadallidic converter in Topeka on a monday night

  • @rawrrrbunneh One person doesn't know how to spell catalytic.

  • @Molochtheincredible Sorry to annoy you by being tired and not giving a fuck about spelling 5 months ago. So here .........3 people didn't find god in a CATALYTIC converter in Topeka on a Monday night! Is that better?

  • @rawrrrbunneh You're a hero :'D

  • @PaleLioness lol

  • @rawrrrbunneh one thumb hunter couldn't spell catalytic. dumbass.

  • @TisoyAko93 And you're the annoying, raging, flamer who ACTUALLY gives a shit about it. Grats bro. Your life must be riveting

  • @IcauGiralee And now we're both trolls, which means you've been brought down to my level. How does that make you feel? lol

  • @TisoyAko93 It makes me feel like you're jerkin' off because someone called you out. Attention makes you hot doesn't it? Then to cover your massive attraction to the thought, you thought that you could say I'm on your level. Get some rare candies and then you might say that you're NEAR my level of trolling. Now come at me bro.

(p.s.) Spelling? you think that pointing out spelling REALLY makes you a troll. lol Wow. Not even close

  • @IcauGiralee I think trolling is swell.

  • @rawrrrbunneh 4 people. (:

  • @rawrrrbunneh nah they turned up a day late and thus missed him

  • @rawrrrbunneh catalytic*

  • @rawrrrbunneh *catalytic

  • @rawrrrbunneh fail.

  • i love the first line the best

  • Love this song.

  • WTF is this guy singing about! I fucking hate Topeka.

  • Comment removed

  • @Furititis Im from Topeka so of course i am mad. none the less kudos to Ludo for this song... though this isn't my type of music, i will give it a like because of what this song is about.

  • @TripleSixZip good for you then dont listen to it

  • @SuperSaturn17 I wont. and how about you suck a fat dick while your handing out people advice.

  • @TripleSixZip whoa buddy your cool i want to grow up and be just as big of an ass as you

  • @SuperSaturn17 I think your already on your way. ;)

  • This song will forever and always remind me of my bestfriend Chell. Miss ya and love ya!

  • I love this song. Can't stand Topeka.. but love this song.

  • I want to scream the first verse out of a hotel window at night.

  • I'm staying in a hotel in Topeka. I've loved this song for ages. But until now I've never been able to call it "appropriate." (Yes! Score one for the sucky road trip!)

  • i just wanna say one thing that line is buetiful "ever saint has a past every su=inner has a futer"

  • @smilemedead

    ...

  • @smilemedead I just wanna say that your spelling is atrocious...

  • wioagnjsvdfklnw I LOVE IN TOPEKA. :3

  • I live in Topeka.. not that great!

  • 3 people have a future

  • I found God in a catalytic converter in Topeka on a Monday night.

  • my friend wrote this!!!! Epic!!!

  • To me, this song means that you can find God and miracles in unexpected places. :) No matter what, everyone has a second chance. You don't have to live in the past, every sinner has a future. :)

  • @starksbabe Lol, "God" what a joke.

  • @starksbabe haha thats funny i know what its really about....

  • @starksbabe second chances r only real in video games and fantasies

in real life if u make a mistake ur pretty much have to accept it u can only try to do something to make up for ur mistake u cant go back and erase ur mistakes they will always be apart of who u r

  • "Every saint has a past, ever sinner has a future" To me this means that no matter how perfect someone seems, or how bad, they can always change, and accept them for who thay are, cause basically we are all human and no one is truely perfect

  • @SuperSecretNinjaSam Cool story bro

  • i didn't even know i had this song on my iPod until i hit shuffle . . . (wow) . . . good thing i did :D

  • I love this song. And the rest from this album as well.

Prepare for Preparation? Not so much.

    I miss the old Ludo.

  • @heartspillxx Ooops. I meant Prepare the Preparations.

  • @heartspillxx I agree! The new album is alright... not my fav tho

  • I live in Top City :)

  • I've been to Topeka. It sucks. But this song makes it about 200 times better(:

  • Oh my god. My name is Topeka. Holy crap. Ahhh!!!

  • Lol I love this song because I live like literally five minutes from Topeka. The part where he mentions getting out of town... yea. I can relate well...

  • Truly awesome song.

  • TOPEKA! :D

    I'm from topeka. :3

  • T~T i cry every time i hear this song cause its a song that reminds me of my dad who passed away back in july we used to listen to this song a bit on road trips to pick up cars or even just to go get groceries T~T i thank ludo for having so many songs that remind me of home and family tho surprisingly some of them have nothing to do with either and i still love their music XD

  • i just love this song!

  • this is an amazing ass song and it really has a good message

  • This song always makes me think of this girl, and I fucking hate it. Too bad, too. It's a nice song, but I can't hear it without getting pissed.

  • <3 I love this Album with a passion. I first heard Ludo on a radio station that doesnt tell the information T.T Luckily I found them and I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEW ALBUM <3 This is my favorite Ludo song by Far!! Love the melody <33

  • love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • seen this written on a guy today made me feel better

  • why would you find GOD in a car!?

  • @LWTracy

i think its like he was going to commit suicide or something because catalytic converter is part of the exhaust system in a car, and you can commit suicide by inhaling the exhaust right? idk though

  • @ginger72483 I knew someone who committed suicide like that. ._.

  • @kimmodude I'm sorry, thats awful :(

  • @LWTracy

he didnt. he found it in his love for his own life

  • @LWTracy Why would you find God anywhere else? And actually, that's not what the song is getting at. He was actually trying to kill himself and then realized that there was so much better out there.

  • @LWTracy that is an easy answer. well not really but kinda XD like with me and my dad we used to work on cars like 24/7 and it was really calming and it kinda helped me think things through clearly...shoot when my dad passed away this past july i started working on his old truck and it helped me sort through things like some people do at church. i personally can't sit through a church service too boring but i can stare at an engine for hours figuring out how to fix it. for me a car is church

  • emporia, holla.

  • @barbaralolzz Me too! At least, at one point in my life.

  • Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future....

  • and blooddrop13 eastern kansas is alot like any other state. its western kansas tht blows. topekas in the east

  • so im from topeka. anybody know why he mentions it?

  • In an interview about this song, his band (Ludo) was driving through Topeka to a show, when the car just stopped working. They got out to check and ended up taking it to a local repair shop. The man said their car had just over heated, but they were lucky they stopped because their "catalytic converter" had broken, the catalytic converter is a part on a car that

  • takes the co2 exhaust and pumps it out of the car, well their cars was broken and they would have died if by some chance the engine didnt over heat. So he is reffering "i found god in a catalyic converter" to god saved them by stalling the car so he would have his converter fixed

  • @cashdog137 cool didn't know that thought which ever one of them wrote it was like me and just found peace staring at machinary in cars, perfeably that needed/needs to be fixed ^~^ thanks for the info though

  • i got a tat saying every saint has a past cuz of this song! ludo is awesome

  • omg yeah! we and my bff always sing love me dead, lake pontchartrain, topeka, and horror of our love and everyone looks at us like we've gone mad

  • wooo! double meaning songs!

  • @6deep6cuts6 what are the two meanings? i'm curious.

  • i'm not going to tell you because that's the magic of music, you cant always know what it means, but it still sounds awesome. i love ludo lol

  • i assure you, arguing with me over the internet and calling me names isnt going to solve anything, but that's all a matter of opinion. i stick by what i say and if you dont like it, i quite frankly dont care. stop trying to insult me and listen to the music for gods sake.

  • lol no ones arguing, we both said our opinions

  • @6deep6cuts6 Even if you don't care what I'm about to say, I just want to say thank you for putting that in such a mature way.
