  • I love Luke's voice, Oh how I love it

  • Chad and co. Though the Dubliners are an Irish band, this song is an English folk song.

  • Irish schmaltz. Goes great with Irish malts. Get drunk and teary-eyed maudlin every night in an Irish pub, then kiss your master's arse in the morning. God bless the anodyne of the sad tale and the penny whistle. Yeats: "Ireland shall have freedom and you shall break stone."

  • @ChadCMulligan1

  • Luke, I only wish you could be here to see how many hearts you have touched with this song. For me anyway, this song is dedicated to my wonderful & beautiful mother Gretta Mc A, who without any question or doubt, rests very very close to our lord Jesus himself, and next to you Luke. R.I.P

  • crackin song for a wake GB Lukey x

  • This poem " The Unquiet Grave" dates from the 1400's at the time of the Black Death

  • I just love the photo in this one. That is Luke as I remember him - purple shirt an' all!! And throwing his hair around as he sang - and always with his knees moving to the rhythm of the songs! Unforgettable!

  • Was there ever a more heartbreaking performance of any song ?

Luke Kelly, the most beautiful voice i ever heard. To see the state of music today makes me despair. Performers like Luke are gone forever it seems.....but never forgotten.

  • "My time be long, my time be short, tomorrow or today, may GOD in Heaven have all my soul, but I'll kiss your lips of clay."

I love that line. All conditions and stipulations be damned. All that matters is desire and intent. But above all else, Spirit is supreme and all encompassing. 93. Love is the law. Love under will.
