I know that when you live in Staten Island it seems like the worst place in the world but I was born and raised there and I moved away four years ago and haven't been back since and I can tell you that I miss it like crazy more and more each day. You don't know how scary Halloween truly is until you've celebrated it on Staten Island. I was sadly stuck in that miserable city while I was on the way to the annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade dressed as a California Raisin. The traditional costumes worn there are usually of a porn star like Ron Jeremy or Jessica Hahn (complete with vulgar plastic "accessories") And I was nearly killed because I had no idea that the expected "treats" were not candy, but condoms and sex toys! If there's anyhing that Staten Island should be known for, it's the fact that most of its residents can't keep themselves from masturbating in public. The problem is so bad that there are even special receptacles placed along the sidewalk just for this purpose (which like trashcans are never used!) i am from Staten Island and i live on the North Shore. It's pretty damn nice. They also have some of the greatest schools like SI, Tech, Staten Island Academy, Wagner College, etc...However, some parts are bad such as West Brighton or Great Kills but what place doesn't have their bad areas. I mean some parts of NY aren't so great.
