  • it reminds me a bit of sinatra's my way :)

  • Ain't that the truth! Itz time to hang it up and become a rabbi. :O

  • Ok, so I was crying while listening to this song. Just when I started to cry he sang "Me with a talent for making you cry" Or something like that O-o

    Dial-á-clichéééé

  • Very handsome =^) Steven is starting to look like Kurt Russell.

  • Morrissey threw away songs that would be A-Sides to 98% of the artists out there now.

  • @reivenlocke

Me is sorry to shatter your illusions, but B-sides are more often than not recorded AFTER the album is pressed.

    Good day to you.

  • @bollockowithalob

The fact of the matter is that post-vinyl era "B-Sides" are comprised of songs that didn't make the cut on an album's release list. The "B" stands for "bonus"...something that wouldn't be possible without them having been recorded beforehand.

So sorry to have spoiled your "being a dick for being a dick's sake" moment.

  • @reivenlocke

Me wishes me had a quid for every time someone's said a B-side shoulda been the A, when it just wasn't possible.

Will have to check the Maladjusted history books.

Vinyl's still coming out, right? Probably outlive CD - happily.

    Jolly good luck to you.

  • @bollockowithalob

    1) You're not a pirate

    2) Ever hear of XTC's "Mermaid Smiled"? It was on "Skylarking" and after a short pressing run was bumped off the album when the B-Side "Dear God" became an unexpected hit. "Mermaid Smiled" became part of a "B-Side" compilation called "Rag and Bone Buffet". So, contrary to what you might believe, it *is* possible.

    3) Vinyl is still out there, but it isn't the premiere media.

  • @reivenlocke

Not heard that ditty, or can't remember it. Good band, aye.

Pretty sure Nobody Loves Us was recorded some time after the album of that year.

D'you know Failure with Girls by the Macc Lads; they were banned from Yank-land.

Since around 1986 - if you buy the vinyl you're in fact listening to the CD master, right? Sort of all bollocks, really.

  • @reivenlocke which artists?

  • @reivenlocke so so true!!

  • @AnElmandAnOak i'm not giving him credit , i'm just saying that it is a great song at maybe because i've felt the way the song describes . but you are right those smith songs are true materpeices ! . but i can't agree when you say this is garbage . Dear God Please Help Me is a Morrissey masterpiece for example.

  • @AnElmandAnOak lyrically that is ! .

  • Moz is a was? Never! Great song.

  • this is a materpiece !!!

love at first sight with this song !

    Mozz is the greatest !

  • Excellent - Still hoping he and Marr bury a hatchet or two

  • I believe Morrissey wished marr 'Nothing but the very worst for the future'

  • @toweronepower

that was to joyce, not marr.

  • @nutta667 Oh, thanks. I thought joyce settled for £80,000 because he was on the smack or something at the time?

  • @toweronepower

if were talkiung about the same time / incident, morrissey was forced to give him a million i think it was because joyce thought what morrissey and marr were receiving in royalties was unfair compared to what he was getting. fair play to him from a band point of view, he was as much of the band as joyce.

  • @toweronepower not marr it was the other two members.

  • will never happen. Hell would freeze over.

  • Very nice montage.
