There was a demo tape of ahscroft on acoustic that a mate gave me in Manchester in 1995 with alot of future verve songs on, Lord of I never I guess I never know was brilliant on it,
one if thats still knocking about, lost my tape years ago ;(
This came from a demo collection "Sympathy for the Demos"...circa 1996, full band except for McCabe, I think Tong is on guitar...
I got a CASETTE of this after seeing the Verve (full line-up) in 1997 in Atlanta...tons of fans waited after the gig to cheer the band as they ran to the bus...in the rain mind you...unbelievable scene for AFTER a concert....
I met a bunch of fans and one guy sent this to me...in the mail..pre-internet....random act of kindness...
@bichillina You shold know that this was a song that was domod years before. Some songs are developed over a number of years and not just right before the album they're on
Play a Verve album, play an Ashcroft Album, there ain't that much difference! Notice the new trend to diss Ashcroft's solo work - it's actually pretty damn good. Do you believe everything you read in the NME? Have a mind of your own !
@processedbeat
Give it three years. I don't think they can go without each other for longer than that.
Some families are like that . But I LOVE all his solo work.

Yeah but Mccabe with Ashcroft adds a lot more energy to his songs don't you think?
