  • if Pat Robertson would agree with any part of your worldview, you're doing something wrong.

the fetus is a life? to quote doug stanhope, "a genital wart is also a living thing...if it's gonna irritate you for the rest of your life, burn it off."

  • @peyoteugly That is one of the most dangerous ways to think. You can't judge right or wrong by what others consider right or wrong. At that point you're just as mindless as the blithering right. Abortion is a very grey area, while I believe that abortion has its place, it is something that should be considered an evil that we should work do to away with. Sex education, availability of birth control are a couple ways, but also addressing our economic issues in this country. Get your own mind kid

  • @heatohio i agree with your points. this band is still clownshoes.

  • Ah Columbus fest...the end-all-be-all of 90's P.C police bullshit

  • R.I.P. Donald Dunar

  • theres something kind of fucked up about a bunch of dudes piling up to yell "the fetus is a life" at a hardcore show.

  • @jkakob Yeah? And what might that be?

  • @xStaycleanx you mean besides the irony of a punk band advocating abortion in a hardline way?

  • @jkakob I find it more ironic that you think punk is about conforming to one belief.

  • you cant act hard with a lame bowl cut abd a tommy h shirt.....

  • @neglect , Iggy was one of the most bad ass hardcore kids in the scene. Try not to slouch it out.

  • haha okey wtf

  • what a great band!!!!!!!

  • someone can tell me the names of this 3 songs played by Abnegation in this video please?

  • @elioxunder first - hopes of harmony, second - jihad, third - shiver (I think so)

  • @fylypekk

    the third song is "birthright"

  • also jihad was probably the best band to play this fest

  • day of suffering = best hardline band ever.

  • the singer is rockin a gnarly bowl cut, and that chubby guitarist with the black hat doent look like a vegan to me

  • I was at this show.

  • holy shit this is a blast from the past. thanks for sharing.

  • No shit, dude. This takes me way back.

14 years later and I'm still going to shows and singing along :)

  • theirs second song... jihad... is so fuckin awsome... why did they break up and sell out :(

  • hey fuck you before

  • Hell of a show. Only time I saw these boys. The Hardcore stuff was great and the Deathmetal too.

  • brings back memories... saw them in indianapolis a bit before this, maybe in 95? If anyone knows how to get in touch with Paul, the guitarist, please let me know.

  • they have a myspace page

  • i remember this fest well. i'm the dude with the ewing jersey poppin up for the last song......."the fetus is a life! the fetus is a life! the fetus is a life!!!" good times

  • @WordUpPeace4138 you're a fucking moron.

  • i was at this show... amazing.. great video...

  • all you dipshits defending hardline are either young and stupid or else in denial. Anybody who has dealt with those self righteous scumbags over time has seen them reverse themselves over and over again. Fuck off. Come get hardline with me- I've got something in my top drawer for you pricks and it's not a tofu burger.

  • abnegation kicks ass.!!

  • Hardline kids = future sell outs. If you are dumb enough to buy into that hyper masculine, Abrahamic bullshit, it won't be too long until you are dumb enough to buy into mainstream intoxication culture (as abnegation proved quite well). If there is one area that hardcore has improved since the 90's, it is that only Europeans are naive enough to call themselves hardline anymore. also, vegan reich's music and ideas were ridiculous.

  • That sounds pretty general. Sounds like you gave up on things yourself and now decide to claim everyone does. I had the exact same political beliefs over 16 years ago as I do now. Labels have nothing to do with future decisions, sincerity does.

  • HA, sorry pseudo-Freud, but you are way off. Nice try though. By the way, if you have "the exact same political beliefs" that you did 16 years ago it sounds like your beliefs and pretty static.

  • Still vegan, still the same feeling about the way most governments treat people, still know that this country is run by the rich and large companies. Pretty much the same feelings as I've always had. I'm sorry if knowing your path and sticking too it is too "static" for you. I guess I should switch things up a bit, maybe chow down and a hamburger or something.

  • Presuming that I have sold out anything that I have believed in simply because I have the good sense and continuity of logic to see through hardline's bullshit is very precious in its child-like simplicity. Since you insist on this assumption with every post it would do you well to know that I have been vegan and straightedge as long as you claim to have been vegan. So "chow down and a hamburger or something" if you want, most hardline/hardline sympathizing kids sure have.

  • As I "claim" to have been? I have nothing to prove here. I'm way to old to get into an internet argument with children. You made statement that generalizes a large group of people. I've seen some of the most militant and some of the most passive vegans sellout. Selling out has nothing to do with hardline, it has to do with commitment.

  • You've taken for granted the gift of life. You have abused the miracle of birth as the child is sucked from inside. conception, the beginnings of life. Your reasoning is irrelevant to the situation. Your choice ends when life begins. Their cries will not go unheard.

    THE FETUS IS A LIFE...

Hope of Harmony, Jihad and birthright of the best songs abnegation...

  • The fetus is a life! The fetus is a life! THE FETUS IS A LIFE!

Bring back the days of good hardline hardcore!

  • say we wanted to be earth crisis but green rage...have you ever listened to green rage?because we didn't sound a thing like em.

  • Is that you Iggy? This is Jesse. This show was fun times.

  • Lol, I totally forgot about this band. I thought they always wanted to be Green Rage. I never new them personally, but I always stayed outside when they played. They plated at the Canton YMCA alot if I recall correctly. XabnegationX... I don't remember any good bands from Erie...

  • Nothing like green rage, Erie bands fuckin rocked. I'll stop talking now

  • Oh man they're sooo bad, who they fuck are they?:)

  • all those pro life, conservative edge-mosh bands sucked! its like listning to a metal influenced toby kieth or something. The line up of this show was bad ass though. OLC! Integrity! wow!!! Good shit came out of Clevo... and i like the fact that they hate Earth Crisis just as much as i do

  • fucking amazing

  • this is awesome. i miss these days. i played guitar in day of suffering. if the guy who recorded this has our set i would love them forever. this show was soooo crazy. girls getting punched in the face. cops stopping the show. one life crew being one life crew. it was insane for sure.

  • Wow. I recorded this! Cleveland Fest 1996. Abnegation, Integrity, Damnation, Catharsis, Day of Suffering (one of the first shows after changing their name). That was an AMAZING fest. Glad to see this up!

  • GOOOOOOOD..

  • Day of Suffering played?! what a killer show!

  • Fucking epic. Thanks for the VID!!!

  • i dont think the fat guy playing bass is VEGAN

  • lol nope, he was the replacement for the bass player that had an aneurysm

  • I missed these guys every time they played in my area and they were always a favorite of mine. Thanks for posting this!

  • i was told that day of suffering played that show too...

  • @murderinhiseyes Don't think so, Day of Suffering didn't exist then (this is from the Cleveland fest, right?)

  • @gooseass day of suffering did play, i should know, i played guitar in day of suffering. this was the first show we played as day of suffering.

  • @murderinhiseyes

i taped this...how the hell it wound up on youtube 15 yrs later is nutty! Cleveland Hardcore Fest '96 -- we recorded Abnegation, Day of Suffering, and the infamous Integrity set where Dwid ended up punchin some girl in the mouth which led to an all out brawl...good times!

  • @greenheatherc bro upload the day of suffering footage please if you still have it. i would love to see that

  • Abnegation needs to stay in the burbs where they belong!
