  • They may be talented, but I think it would sound better on a guitar, not a keyboard.

  • there used to be 3 of them. what happened to the other sister??

  • I found out about them on YO GABBA GABBA

  • they went to my aunt and uncles drum school in Seattle, pretty awesome

  • My oh my, I came into this ready to hate more teenage pop shit but this was actually surprisingly good synthpop, especially for kids their age.

  • @nocturnezero I agree but i think our standard teenybopper pop is only shit not worth using as toilet paper because the kids aren't writing the music.

  • sandalwood love smoosh :-)

  • dude they are freakin beautiful now holy shizz

  • Where have these chicks been HIDING?!!?!?

They're pretty good- and wow they've opened for Pearl Jam that's pretty awesome.

  • who the hell dislikes some shit 2 kids made, and then lets you know they dont like it?bummers dude

  • man I'm so fucking thankful Kimmel had them on. I saw this on TV and I NEVER would have found out about them if it wasn't for this show. I this on TV, immediately dug the hell out of them, then a week or so later they reran the show and I insta recorded it. Still got the tape somewhere.

Smoosh is srsly one of my favorite bands, and I just found out they're gonna be playing in Austin on march 17th at southwest by southwest. I live in the south and I'm SOOO going to go see them, so fucking happy

  • Snookie want smoosh smoosh

  • i just discovered them on kexp... they didn't look this young and i'm shocked they are so young! it's only been 4 years but wow! big change! my mind has just exploded. wow!

for fun lets compare them to justin beiber... ahhhh never mind. it's not possible. these girls are the real thing...

  • I rediscovered them on kexp on their videocast. Nice to see they are still a band making music. I remember reading about them in the local paper way back when they were 12 years old playing a local venue. makes me want to listen to more local artists.

  • Is dat some CP? Hahaha, video statistics show that the majority of viewers are 45-54 year-old males.

  • Im kind of worried that everyones saying the pianist is hot, she looks about 12 espically when this is the most common viewer...

    Gender Age

    Male 45-54

  • Hanson! lol pianist is hott

  • i feel depressed that they opened for Pearl Jam

    this is a sad day

  • totally adorable. great music. the whole new album is very listenable

  • ALso come check out my Videos and thanks for your support. You girls Rock

    Thanks,

    JAG

  • and i said hey hey what a wonderful kind of day

  • Saw them open for Eels in 2006 and thought it was a joke at first. Pretty quickly I realized these were some damn talented young women. GREAT in concert, if you get the chance to see them. Dig it !!!

  • Holy crap, I remember reading about these girls in American Girl magazine like, 5 years ago! they're really talented(:

  • @7FridayGirl109 That's where I first heard of them too ^_^

  • smoosh rule

  • Whoever hit dislike doesn't know SHIT

  • I'm seriously impressed

  • Pajama Party Time! Jumping Around!

  • @RyuDekay Yo Gabba Gabba FTW!

  • @RyuDekay

    Yo Gabba Gabba FTW!

  • These girls are kick ass! The drummer's totally providing background vocals while doing her thing. Drumming and singing at the same time is really hard!

  • I actually think they're pretty decent, particularily for their age and everything. Normally an act like this would annoy me, what with kids and all, but they aren't in the slightest bit annoying.

  • is it just me or does the keyboardist look freakishly like emma roberts?

  • i want a roland xp30...

  • They have just released a new album called The World's Not Bad! It's really good!

  • @qawsedrftgig Actually, they renamed it Withershins?

  • lovely. <3 i love u :)

  • they were on yo gabba gabba!

  • Love it! Ludwig's and Zildjian's..that's one smart little girl!~

  • yeah.....not good. she goes flat a lot and they suck at meshing.

The age factor holds no value in my eyes either. Young people who don't play well are the same as grown people who dont play well.

  • Comment removed

  • @Salguine Saying they don't play well is only truthful. And I don't know how me playing a song on T.V. would make these girls sound any better.

  • @ScottyBorderline You sound like the biggest case of sour grapes on record. So they don't play with the chops of 20-year performance veterans? They "don't play well"? Maybe they don't play perfectly, but saying they don't play well at all is ridiculous. What an stuffy, insufferable tool you sound like. Tell you what, when you go on national television to perform your original songs, be sure and let us all know so we can tune in.

  • I love their music =]

  • i dated one asy YES

  • Anyone who has something negative to say should just keep it to yourself. For crying out loud, these girls are 12 and 14 in this performance. They sound great, especially for their stage in their musical development. They did a great job in this video!

  • I don't care how old they are, this song is very good.

  • good drummer

  • Shame about the performance. They're good, obviously just a little nervous.

  • these 2 are soo cool!

looking foward for their grown up stuff in the future

  • Look at that drumbeat in the beginning. Amazing.

  • So cool. The drummer was havin a blast.

  • I'm not a hater, but that performance was weak. They have much better songs.

  • okropne ale czy na fotelu nie siedzi przypadkiem Kyle XY? hehe

  • Asya does vocals on "God Help The Girl" if you search for "I Just Want Your Jeans" and "Down and Dusky Blonde" her voice sounds great on it!

  • odd

  • hello i am weird

  • i really dislike them...

  • why? are you jealouse because theyre pretty successful......?

  • yea, lemmie tell yah. o.o i just dont like them, kay? ;D

  • i like the drummer but the singer not so much

  • i hugged them ha

  • Man, that drummer is killer. Much better than me when I was that age. She's got my respect.

  • so so so much potential!!!

  • Man! That girl's actually a pretty good drummer... They've got a bright future ahead of them.

  • AAAAAAAAA no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kno them! they used to live near me, and my older sister was friends with the 14 yr old! Um, personally i dont really like them, but for their ages, they're pretty amazing!

  • 3:09 the chorus part reminds me of Heros&Villans by Brian Wilson. and 3:22 One Big Holiday by MMJ.

Weird lol. But regardless, I am kinda impressed with these two young girls. They are not some pop, teeny singalong like destiny child wana be's.

  • theyre really good for that age. wouldnt buy anything though..

  • ahahahahahahahah same here

  • DUDE! i heard the album, and i thought these tweenies were just singing i didn't know they were rocking their own shit! fuck yeah this is great!

  • SuperRunescape1234 wtf kinda name is that do u sit on ur lazy ass all day dick head so keep ur mouth shut i wann a see if u can do better go keep playin ruinscape and mind ur businnes

  • If you're hatin' on this you're on fucking crack. That little 12 year old girl is sick on the drums. More solid than some of the so called "pros" I've had to play with.

  • u guys u think ur great criticks...i dnt see u guys coming out with bands...kudos to these girls...the vocals were good...so was the keyboard...and the girl that is 12 with the drum set...knows how to play...give it up to these girls...they are on their way to stardom...

  • OMFG

  • Guys, think about their age? You obviously don't know talent when you see it.

  • :43 - :56 is the best part of the song...no discredit to the vocals or lyrics lol

  • they r the worst singers i have ever heard of !!!!!!!!!!

    they suck

  • smoosh is the best!

  • once again, leave it up to sleazy record execs to exploit talented young girls..i don't think they've even hit puberty yet..the sad part is that they're not a full band and they lack experience..they are talented never the less, but you can bet the person behind all this is one money grubbing son of a bitch...wait 'til these little beauties hit 18 yrs of age !!! wqatch out record execs..you're DEAD !!!

  • actually, their record label doesn't push them at all. They made sure they had a solid, normal family life before they signed them.

And the parents don't push them, either. They leave the decisions of when they want to practice or tour completely up to the girls. They always tell them that it's about the fun and the love of the music.

  • its a pretty kick ass drum beat for a 12 yr old

  • @sleater84

    damn right.. she killed it

  • @sleater84 "You play drums like a 12 year old girl" - now no longer an insult

  • I read about these girls in an American Girl magazine

  • Without the "Lolita factor" they're nothing. The vocals are disturbing.

  • theyre awsome

  • WOOT WOOT!!! GO ASYA!! love the singer and the drummer

  • These girls are amazing consitering their age.

  • the 14 year old's pretty hot

  • this is fucking amazing. Only 12 and 14. these girls must be geniuses! Well done!!!

  • Damn, when I first heard the song I thought it was recorded by session musicians. Now I see these girls can play live well. Drums are good, piano/bass combo is good. My only gripe is that backing vocals were a bit off, but I know from experience that it's not easy playing and singing at the same time.

    5 stars!

  • I love the singer's voice! I heard this song on Pandora and instantly fell in love!

  • wow! considering their ages and that its just the two of them, you gotta be impressed! These girls look and sound like they're trying to do too much but when was the last time you saw a group perform live on one of these talk shows where the music wasn't canned and lip-sync'd? Raw talent here. They just need to add a few key members, concentrate on their strenghts, get a good producer, and jam! Kudos to Smoosh!

  • How about Green Day?

  • drums are great, but singing lessons would not hurt...

  • 0:58

  • ok the drummer is amazing for 12...even amazing if she wasnt amazing. but the singer sux im sry.

  • 0:30

  • wow you guys are totaly awesome!!!!!! i've never seen that album but i love it!

  • sounds aweful?! never heard any other track or live recording but in this special live appearance its sound very average. the track itsself and the handling of the isntruments and the singing. sounds like some very standard youth band. reminds of schoolbands lol.

  • lol

  • bull shit

  • Great drummer!

  • there's a third sister?

  • yeah she's in the band now

  • Actually there's a 3rd (Maia) and a 4th (Scout). Scouts not in the band.

  • they are making better music than you were at 12 and 14

  • More famous? You mean like avril lavigne or something? Get to the point of having a clothing line, letting rappers turn your hit song into garbage, having a blow out sale on tour merchandise, doing things for the money, that kinda famous?

What I love about Smoosh is that they're playing music because they love it, they're not some business pawn, they're in it for the music. I'd like to see them stay Indie. I'd hate to see them end up like $avril$ $lavigne$

  • That's one of the things I most admire about Smoosh is that they are not about mega-fame and big bucks, or else they probably could have sold out to Disney or some other major label deal years ago, kind of as the next Hanson. They would likely lose creative control of their music, and be forced to collaborate with professional hit-crafters to make radio friendly pop tunes. Stay free and experiment more. I'm not a huge Indie fan, but I appreciate the freedom the artists have with their music.

  • They are great! they shud be more famous.

  • there awesome they need to very famous

  • you aren t brittish

  • so freaking good. I hope u guys tour...I really love this song. it really good, I like the way u guys jam ...I hope you come to Philly..

  • you are silly

  • haha, too late everybody, the third sister plays base guitar now ;)

  • Coolm Hansen is still touring

  • if they need a bass playa, im there, lol

  • if they need a guitar player :P just give me a call

  • They do need a guitar in their songs!

  • Lol you say they have potential. Last time i checked they are on stage in an episode of jimmy kimmel. They don't just let any scrub on the show.

  • Just being on TV doesn't mean that someone is really all that good. Some really crappy music (not talking about Smoosh) gets on TV sometimes. They were definitely good enough to get on Jimmy Kimmel, but that just puts them out there for viewers to have their own opinion of them. I admit I wasn't overly impressed with this song, but by the time I saw the videos of Promises and Great Skies from less than a year later, I realized I had underestimated them. Huge improvement in a very short time.

  • As a musician of 30 years, I have to say these kids are awesome. To those (below) who criticize their sound and performance, well ... Question: what were you doing when you were 14? Answer: nothing anyone would pay to see. And certainly nothing this awesome.

    Loosen up.

  • agreed sir

  • I don't think it is putting them down to notice that there was still some room for improvement at this time, particularly in the vocals. Hey I'm a fan of both Dylan and the Grateful Dead, so I can't be too concerned about vocal precision :-) It's important to point out to critics though that this was two years ago, and they were greatly improved all around by less than a year later. Do a search for Smoosh Lollapalooza and see what I mean. Still only 13 and 15, but they were very impressive.

  • I agree. The kids are excellent :)

  • From this and the video of the same song, I would say that they have potential, but do they ever need voice lessons!

  • Their vocals have gotten a lot better since this performance two years ago.

  • Well I actually think they may have just been camera shy because I have seen them live and they are fantastic. Really incredible and a lot of talent. They opened for one of my all time favorite bands.

  • thats because "America's Got Talent" was created, and is run by, and adored by Brainless, Talentless morons, much like yourself

  • I think the question is "who cares?" And the answer: nobody.

  • not my style. POINTS FOR TRYING

  • Stefani and DJ Tanner! You let your sister play too!

  • they are hott nice drum set

  • ? sounds like crap

  • they are soo goood!

  • These girls are amazing. Saw them last night at the Beaumont in Kansas City...just, wow. Incredibly passionate performers, great songwriters...they're going places, for sure.

  • Same here! I love these girls, so talented.

  • i dont here any guitar at all...?

  • nope. just the tone the keyboard is set to.

  • the drummer's facial expressions freak me out

  • i think their hot =)

  • theyre good, but there is a hiiden guitarist

  • No, I think it is the tone they have the keyboard set to.

  • oh ok. its a pretty convicing sound.

they hold it all together really well.

  • yeah it is

  • That is a catchy tune,zeebeejee

  • Catchy tune

  • I really like them

  • I just saw them in Massachusetts. Pretty intense... she has really good pitch live

  • I saw them in the Paradise Boston too. I was very surprised! those girls really rock! with out even considering they are teens

  • I love chloe

  • muy wena la cancion emoza la voz y el teclado, excelente la bateria k mas se puee pedir :D

  • local h

  • you are so pedo

  • Plus he's a fan of Alan Jackson? wtf???

  • are u a kid ur a predator fukin jerk! they are 12 n 14

  • learn to spell

  • so lucky to have a career so young

  • damn youngsters, not bad at all

  • unlike other tween pop groups we have in this society, smoosh writes their own MEANINGFUL, DEEP, and indie music. which is a breath of fresh air. so glad they aren't another miley cyrus or ashley tisdale

  • drummer is great

  • the one playen the drums is 12

  • Kidding me? Wow, she's great for a 12 year old. These girls are pretty good for being so young. I couldn't do what they're doing at 12.

  • great song, thanxxx :)
