@NoMAIG: Dude, the text below is from the bill. It isn't hype or polispeak. I don't like the idea that they put this cr@p in a funding bill either but it isn't the bugbear that the leftist media has made it out to be.
600 billion bux isn't bad for national defense either. We have military personnel to pay, equipment to maintain, and R&D projects to fund. Just take out the unlawful detention phraseology and I'll be happy with it.

S1867, National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, Section 1032, Paragraph 4, subsection b, "(b) APPLICABILITY TO UNITED STATES CITIZENS AND LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS.—
UNITED STATES CITIZENS.—The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States."
That also goes for "Lawful Resident Aliens".
Notice the terms CITIZEN and LAWFUL! No problem with this bill, it's just funding for national defense.

how about stopping imigration from the middle east.. they can't cause problems if we don't let them in..I oppose any law that will deny due process of law to american citizens but want the government to keep these people out.. we can't live with people so different in the ways we each view the world.

so that racist white people will go with it thinking that it will be just for non Europeans-whites, even if it's non terrorists people that are so call illegals, and as long as they're not white hey have fun, but it all always comes back to bite them in the ass. when Bush came out with all those laws most whites supported it because they thought it was going to be only for middle eastern looking people.

This bill will spark the next American Revolution without a doubt. IIF this passes you best believe ARMED citizens will take action. Those who take action will be labeled as "terrorists" "traitors" etc. But that is how we were labeled in our first revolution. I believe it was "treason against the crown"
