  • What shoes are you wearing?? Cool!

  • whoever edited this is Q#%$# too much close-ups

  • I know that the video is called old school moves in jazz funk

But, in the video she does say that the moves is from break dancing!

  • Oh my god stop complaining. YOU PEOPLE AREN'T OBLIGATED TO WATCH THIS. And it's called "Old school moves IN jazz funk." She's not claiming these moves originated from jazz funk. She's just USING them for jazz funk dances. You people are ridiculous. And the even SAID the Top Rock is from break dancing. Just because she's using it in a jazz funk video does NOT mean she's claiming it's a jazz funk step. So just stop.

  • Top Rocking is NOT Jazz Funk.. know your history before you teach styles you do not understand.. Street Jazz/Funk is NOT Hip Hop.. Top Rock is within the Hip Hop Art Forms..

  • @SnapShot156 u know jazz dancing contains hip hop........ -_-

  • THAT IS NOT JAZZ NEITHER FUNK... SORRY DONT TEACH THAT.

  • This is really Sad, That is NOT TOPROCK OR ROCK OF ANY KIND! WHY IS IT THAT PEOPLE DO THIS TYPE OF B.S.....???? If you are not a TopRocker a BBoy or a Rocker, you should not be teaching TopRock! You actually get paid for teaching this Garbage? LOL THANKS FOR THE LAUGH! LMAO

  • WTF this is stupid ! i cant even be bothered to curse this out ! just made me laugh

  • her shoes are horrid.

  • its a upfront rock because she never crosses her legs from behind like in a traditional uprock.

  • correction its an uprock but and follow closely its a front up rock. because her foot radius is just the front 180 degrees.

  • The cameraman is a class A Idiot

  • the filming really annoys me, why can't they show the whole figure at the end where it's all put together? They keep zooming in on just the legs, and it's like that in almost all of these videos... Really like the tutorial though

  • isnt the 1st step basic hiphop? :)

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuuu!

  • i likeeee :)

  • what kind of shoes u got i like dem!

  • man i cant believe this people need to stop exploiting bboying it is bboying not breakdancing..epic failure!

  • @thatbboyrandom1 ye i hate that too!!! also can't stand when they call that commercial pop dancing hip hop...

  • i like it.!<3 lol

  • that 1 is quite hard

  • her drop makes me giggle.

  • Do it with music eventually!

  • @BOOMPOWbethany YA KNOW!!!

  • oh and i liked the close ups on the feet. i watched many videos where they shot it zoomed out on the entire body keeping it steady on the tripod, and i found it harder to follow. zoom ins help me focus on the move. since you repeated them each many times zoomed in and out it was extreamly easy to follow thx ^^

  • i like it. thankyou very much! i'm trying to get into sheridain, for theatrical arts and as such knowing a bit of dance will help. so thankyou ^^ i found your video very easy to follow. it was just as good as being taught in person :). thx again!

  • nice boobessss

  • I can't believe people take classes for this.

  • i know breaking got a lot of influences from funk but this look like its way too far into breakdancing too be funk...

  • this all looks way too poppy in my opinion.

  • where did u get ur shoes?? what are they called

  • Sorry dancing - this isnt Jazz Funk dancing, none of the steps were ever used by the dancers back in the day when jazz funk was played in clubs, not knocking what your doing, just pointing out youve got the name mixed up :o)

  • @MrToosox Back in the late 80s/early 90s Jazz dancers found this "new" music they generically called hip hop. We did our version of steps we thought were in the clubs. It's how you get these really stiff versions of top-rock, etc. that don't look as cool as breakdancers or clubbers woulda looked. & since it's jazz dancers doing what they think are funky moves they call it funk jazz or street jazz. It has no relation to the jazz funk genre of music at all.

  • @hahakseth Ive been daning "JAZZFUNK" since 1978 - the above bears no relation to what I know as JazzFunk dance ............ I am not hating on the video at all - but Im just picking up on yr conversation with MrToosox.

Myself, along with about 1 or 2 thousand jazzfunk dancers would not agree with the above description of jazz funk dancing.

AND, if youre not dancing to jazz funk, you definately are not dancing JAZZ FUNK.

I know my history, from Disco Funk Boogie Jazz Fusion Bebop Bboy Lock etc

  • Bboyn and Hip Hop are not Jazz Funk..Shouldn't be called Jazz Funk at any case and time and space and what ever...Those kind of missed terminology is responsible that old school groove is out of dance moves that are used today, and are moves that are back from 60 is 70 is and 80 is...

Teach it as it is, and name it as it is, and then point on them as used in Jazz Funk and not as they are a part of it...

  • the editing makes this hard to watch. it would be more helpful with out the close ups.

  • good vedio

  • Why is it advanced? o_o It's really easy.

  • Why is it advanced? o_o It's really easy.

  • Where does Jazz Funk come from?

  • @robhiphop Well son...when two generes of music love each other very much....

  • syncopation brocken down into dance form ..cool !!! groovin in the gaps !!

  • Thank you so much, you are the best teacher and beautiful girl! your video helps a lot!

  • The recording of this was not very good but I like the choreography.

  • The camera person shouldnt show the feet too much so it would be easier for us to see the actual move of the body

  • great job in breaking this down... I'm an instructor with a ballet background and although I studied and performed jazz, I never studied funk so this opens up so many opportunities to expand movement in my jazz classes. thank you!

  • the person filming this segment shouldn't just show the feet, it cuts off the flow of the move.

In general, it would be nice if it was also shown from the back, as in a studio situation. thank you.

  • Great vid!
