@123simonresok123 3rd party means a software developer that is independent from the console in question. For instance, Mario is first party to Nintendo as Nintendo own the intellectual rights to Mario, but they do not own any rights to Resident Evil which is a 3rd party game, this means the developer (in this case Capcom) stand apart from Nintendo and can therefore make games on any console they choose.
Most games are made by 3rd party devs.
