it's these kinds of interviews i love. when they really say something, and really act like friends.

i loved when frank talked about growing up in the band. it really hit me - he is a brave ass dude. he was like 19 when the band kicked off. i'm 17 now and i wouldn't have the guts to do some of the shit he and they do every single day.

also, the part where gerard talks about a band changing every record.. DUDE. that's you! you're that band to me.

and we love you for it. and you love us.

I love how accepting MCR and the MCRmy are of new comers. I'm quite new to the MCRmy myself. And I know how normal fandoms usually go, especially for bands. If you're a new fan you're not a real fan. Only the old fans are.

I classify myself into quite a few fan 'armys' and the fanbase of mcr are definitely one of the closest. I love being a Killjoy :)

The not growing out of your favorite band bit is EXACTLY how I feel about MCR. When I was 13 they became my favorite band. This was true until I was 17. Then I started to grow out of them when they went on their break. Now I'm 20 and they're back, and they are my favorite band again. It was like they never left. I've never felt that way towards a band before. MCR coming back is exactly what I needed at this time in my life.

It's not like I got sick of them or anything, but when they were on their break, a lot of stuff happened in my life and I grew up a little bit and I just felt like I had outgrown them, which bothered me a little. But when they came back with all this color & I heard the new album, it was just what I needed. Instead of me outgrowing them, I feel like I'm growing up WITH them.

Besides the fact that for me it was not so much a case of outgrowing them, but whilst they were off touring on parade and then starting the writing process for the new album I just sort of forgot about them because they dropped off the radar. the whole ‘Imagine if your favourite band- you didn’t have to grow out of, like imagine if, you didn’t just listen to them for nostalgia reasons...’ bit was amazing. Exactly how I feel about MCR. Pretty much everyone else I listened to and loved when I was younger has pretty much faded out, whereas them and Green day still write songs that I love, still write records that I love and still have a defining influence over my life. And I love that.
