Blacks have only had around 50 years of true equality in this country which is why they've been supported more than whites but at some point down the road the government needs to say you have to start earning more for yourself. I might grow some respect for Rush Limbaugh's ideas if they weren't buried in hatred. That's what I've always resented about his show and his policies; they engender hatred in people. If Rush would do EXACTLY what he's doing now, only cut out the contempt towards our president and the entire Democratic (and sometimes Republican) party, it would be better for the country and may even further his career (to more than it already is).

However, many black people switched from Republican to Democrat in 1932 when they realized FDR was going to help not just the white people, but everyone.

FDR refused to meet with Jesse Owens after his Olympic victory, because he was Black.

To this day the Democratic Party supports lower standards for Blacks when it comes to university admissions and employment. They think that it is unreasonable to expect Blacks to be able to compete with Whites on a level playing field.

The Democrats kept Blacks down for a century using oppression, but that just made them stronger. So now they just pander them to death.

Washington on many occasion, he had a Black Opera Singer sing for him after being denied (forgot her name), and appointed Mary Bethune the Head of his black cabinet, as well as the head of the division of Negro Affairs, and also enacted a section of the Justice department that protected the Civil Rights of blacks and also fought back against Lynchings. In 1920s, there were 750 Lynchings, hoover did nothing. In 1930s, 40s less than 100 each decade.

Anti-lynching laws were proposed by Republicans and fought by Democrats. The president has no authority under the Constitution to do anything about local law enforcement (see "posse comitatus"). The House Committee on Un-American Activities was actually formed in the 20's to deal with the KKK and lynchings.

The fact that FDR had a division of "Negro Affairs" is offensive, suggesting that "Negros" are inferior and needing a special government agency.

The Democratic Party was formed in the 1790's. It was originally an anti-federalist party called the "Democratic-Republican Party". It was in no way connected to today's Republican Party, which was formed as an anti-slavery offshoot of the Whig Party.

Democratic nominee Stephen Douglas ran on his support for slavery. I suppose that you could argue that it was called the "Northern Democratic Party", but it is the same organization that we call the Democrats today.

There is no evolution of political parties because the two-party system has reformed multiple times, such as after the Great Depression, which created the two parties we have today. What is the idology of a Republican in the first place. I am a conservative and believe in peoples right to make decisions for themselves. The college of Durham is tiny compared to any other colleges. My mother has a PH.D in Social Work, and is a policy writer for the State of Texas.
