Pretty good video...I've made omelets for years now. But that has all changed now...after watching AussieTrueBlue do the "Omelet in a Bag", I'll never go back. It takes longer - 15 mins in boiling water but is the easiest, fluffy, and perfect omelet. A kid could do this and I recommend that too! Give it a go!
pretty cool you may want to remind people to use a heat resisant spatchula if you dont it will melt with the heat of the pan,,,it has happend to me,,,good video though,,thanks for posting whats life with out cheese Im a cheese alholic,,
I personally chuck in 100g of low fat cottage cheese and 2 slices of wafer-thin ham. This gives me 31g of protein from the omelette (2 eggs) (great for bodybuilders).
@babybuttercup98 Keep stirring it for a while(not too long, about 20-30 seconds or so) to make sure the bottom doesn't stick or burn, push the cooked egg(edges) into the center. When it seems like it's just very, very,VERY slightly raw,put all the cheese in and flips it over, the amount of time you use to add the stuff, flip it and get it to a plate(depending on what and how much you put in) will be enough for the eggs to finish cooking because of the heat that's already in the pan.
Lol you know you're a pro in the kitchen when you crack eggs with 1 hand. I have an omelette everyday for lunch..I think I need a better pan though because mine sticks really fast..could this be because I use Extra virgin olive oil instead of butter (healthier)?
@Xardeso notice he only put in butter, not oil, which is the most "dangerous". He also put in a drop of water right after applying butter to a preheated DRY pan, meaning it isn't going to be hot enough to really be the "explosion" you're thinking of. The sizzle is coming from the pan, not the butter, so its perfectly fine the way he did it.
@XxAznChrizxX I was talking about the general idea of putting water in hot oil. Maybe it wasnt dangerous as he dropped the water in the oil, but if amateurs are trying to copy this it could really end up dangerously.
Jason, I made a cheese omelet minutes after watching this video. First time I've tried, after all these years, and thanks to you, it turned out great on my first try! I used 1 slice of american cheese, cut in 2 halves. Next time I'll use 2 slices so it's extra cheesy!
Thank you so much there was only eggs and cheese in the fridge and some salot, and peeper then i said why not make a cheese omelted then i learned it from you i had around 3 of them
Okay, don;t call me an idiot but when u say cooking school does that mean that you took a cooking class in college because I'm looking forward to becoming a chef when I'm older I would message you but I couldn't find your message button thank you :) Btw the cheese omelet was delicious:)
I love how you actually take the time to answer people on here thinks it's great! I first used this video bout a month ago and it came out perfect my daughter loved it! Thank you
@timmythecoon You can test the egg before cracking it by placing it in a large bowl of water. If it floats to the top, that means it has air within the shell, and is not good to use. Throw it away. If it sinks or stays below the surface of the water, the egg is good.
Chef, I have a question: Using this recipe, does the yoke come out runny and a liquid, or is it turned into the omelette itself? What I mean is, if I poke the omelette with a fork, will a yellow liquid come out (not cheese)?
@reboh79 The yolk is mixed in with the whites and is therefore cooked into the omelet. You will not be able to poke the omelet and see the yolk run out as you would a fried egg.
Ok so I'm only 17 but my dream/goal is to become a chef, and you honestly inspire me a lot!! I love all your recipes and have tried most of them! Thank you so much for your videos they're really helpful.

I just used this video to make my first omelette ever, and the first one didn't fold so well but the only pan i could find was a bigger one so that is why, I'm told it still tasted great.
