  • Just used you video to make my first cheese omelet (well first omelet) tasted delicious!! Great video!!!

  • @jerbus Fantastic! So glad you enjoyed it! :) Jason

  • Shit man, everything you make is so delicious. I gotta haul my ass to the United States asap, totally my taste of food.

  • Hmm , i thought they teached chef's to not season the eggs immidiate but waiting untill done. Is this not true?

  • @efTelmoo

Two of my "go-to" books say otherwise. Season eggs a bit first.

  • Thank you for this, had a nice breakfast this morning :)

  • @Spencercw0wns You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • top quality chef ! you would be amazed how many 'chefs' these days can't even cook an omeltte

  • @MrSlayer42 Thanks!

  • woow this guy is soo cool

  • Thank you Mr.chef sir for making these video ^^ and now i finally mastered the cheese omelet ^^ thanks for the tips!! :)

  • @M3GAOMAR He didn't say it was expensive. He said it was "cheaper"

  • amazing! but so simple?

  • Pretty good video...I've made omelets for years now. But that has all changed now...after watching AussieTrueBlue do the "Omelet in a Bag", I'll never go back. It takes longer - 15 mins in boiling water but is the easiest, fluffy, and perfect omelet. A kid could do this and I recommend that too! Give it a go!

  • @ChefTips What type of pan do you recommend for omlettes (size and style)?

  • @wyadlon

I think an 8 inch is the way to go. This will give you room to play with.

  • Why water and not milk?

  • @Silenthawk98

    Water is cheaper...

  • @757K

    Thank you!

  • So simple, so good.

  • @poiupupu Thanks! I like to show the basics sometime.

  • that water in the butter test could be a dangerous habit so watch out

  • @macak321

    Not really....

  • @ChefTips making this method a habit, for a less experienced person, could lead to forgetting the difference between hot oil and hot butter

  • Hey Chef Jason, just wanted to let you know that you helped me plan out my college diet.

  • @solidiquis1

    Cool. Thanks!

  • I eat this all the time.

  • That was delicious! Very good! Greetz @ Holland :P

  • @jerrellvd28

    Thank you!

    Cheers from the U.S.!

  • this guy is cool

  • @smeacythe

    Ha ha! Thanks!

  • pretty cool you may want to remind people to use a heat resisant spatchula if you dont it will melt with the heat of the pan,,,it has happend to me,,,good video though,,thanks for posting whats life with out cheese Im a cheese alholic,,

  • @Dolphindream15

Thanks for noticing that detail and for commenting.

  • Thnxs was very helpful

  • @SOPHIAKARINA

You're welcome. Glad it helped you!

  • cool

  • I personally chuck in 100g of low fat cottage cheese and 2 slices of wafer-thin ham. This gives me 31g of protein from the omelette (2 eggs) (great for bodybuilders).

  • @sausag3onthefloor Sounds great!

  • Thanks, Chef...I actually made an Omelet....And not to brag but I did pretty good for my first attempt to make an Omelet, Thank You Chef!

  • @superJordan181 Congratulations! :) J

  • @ChefTips Thanks :)

  • this will be my first try in my cooking career at our house LOL! :)))

  • i just made myself the worst cheese omlet -_-

  • @babybuttercup98

Fail is not an option! Try it again!

  • @ChefTips well it flipped but it didn't fry how much mins should i keep it on the frying pan?

  • @babybuttercup98 Keep stirring it for a while(not too long, about 20-30 seconds or so) to make sure the bottom doesn't stick or burn, push the cooked egg(edges) into the center. When it seems like it's just very, very,VERY slightly raw,put all the cheese in and flips it over, the amount of time you use to add the stuff, flip it and get it to a plate(depending on what and how much you put in) will be enough for the eggs to finish cooking because of the heat that's already in the pan.

  • you know ur a pro when u got an electric shaker..

  • where did u get the salt shaker !!@

  • @zeezo2013

The pepper mill was given to me as gift I think. It really is a great invention!

  • Def gonna try these. Chef Jason, what do you suggest for omelet fillings besides cheese?

  • @vaduzcrew Sauteed mushrooms, red bell peppers, diced ham, shredded beef — the possibilities are endless! :)

  • Lol you know you're a pro in the kitchen when you crack eggs with 1 hand. I have an omelette everyday for lunch..I think I need a better pan though because mine sticks really fast..could this be because I use Extra virgin olive oil instead of butter (healthier)?

  • @sausag3onthefloor

Hello. It's most likely your pan. Olive oil works great in place of butter...

  • @ChefTips I just made an omelette and it turned out awesome, no sticking at all. I just used twice as much olive oil as usual. :-)

  • @ChefTips can i make cheese omelet without butter?

  • @adamejiofor7 Yes, you can just use oil instead.

  • @ChefTips wow!tthank you!:D

  • what heat would you say it needs to be on?? my hob gose from 1 to 10. 1 been the lowest obviously :)

  • @14jackthelad

Hello. I would try it at 6.

  • @ChefTips Thx thats what i did do :)

  • i love eggs and i love this video!

i'm going to try this first thing tomorrow morning..

    thanks CT ;-)

  • @MrTukachinchilla Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!

  • @ChefTips Thank you I made one with red leiscter and ham :D delish but i couldnt fold it it tasted nice though ;D Thanks!

  • @TommoArts Sounds great! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Do u wanna be my dad?

  • Never put water in hot oil or fat, everybody knows what happens if the oil is too hot

  • @Xardeso

    Please explain your blanket statement...

  • @Xardeso notice he only put in butter, not oil, which is the most "dangerous". He also put in a drop of water right after applying butter to a preheated DRY pan, meaning it isn't going to be hot enough to really be the "explosion" you're thinking of. The sizzle is coming from the pan, not the butter, so its perfectly fine the way he did it.

  • @XxAznChrizxX I was talking about the general idea of putting water in hot oil. Maybe it wasnt dangerous as he dropped the water in the oil, but if amateurs are trying to copy this it could really end up dangerously.

  • thats it

where is the difficult part :D

  • isnt it better to flip your omlet first to cook the leftover raw egg then flip it bac over to put the cheese on and fold?

  • Great video! About to try my first cheese omelet. Hope it tastes good. Thankyou!

P.S I wanted to ask what music you use in the beginning of your videos? :)

  • @sweetrawker Hope it went well! The music is from iMovie. Can't remember the name of the song. :)

  • so can I use sliced cheese?

  • @ChefTips Thanks, you are one of the few chefs on youtube that actually reply's to questions. I'm gonna make this >.<

  • @legocitybuilder10 Enjoy!

  • This is SO good. I used Mozzarella instead of cheddar and put some salsa on top, it was great. Thank you!

  • @NinjaDinosaur321 You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Awesome! Can't wait to cook it. =)

  • @WyeSun Enjoy!

  • This was really helpful

  • it was great, for the first omelet i ever made i think i did pretty good

  • your kidding right?

  • @ChefTips where i can buy frypan like yours?

  • Thx! Its really easy :P

  • Thx!

  • You are to cooking what Donatello was to sculpting.

  • @11spike7

    Now that's a complement! Don't know if I agree with it..... =]

    Cheers!

  • Jason, I made a cheese omelet minutes after watching this video. First time I've tried, after all these years, and thanks to you, it turned out great on my first try! I used 1 slice of american cheese, cut in 2 halves. Next time I'll use 2 slices so it's extra cheesy!

  • @centuryrox Great news! Glad it turned out well for you! Extra cheese is always good!

  • wow, nice stuff chef, this is first video i saw of yours, and the stuff u put up is awesome :)

I have one question though. What if i wanted to cook this with oil? will i get the similar result?

  • @MrGalbatrox9 Yes, just use a small bit.

  • that looks really good chef, im going to make it right now

  • @MrKillerrellik2008 Hope you enjoyed it!

  • @ChefTips it was great, thanks chef

  • @MrKillerrellik2008 Awesome! You're welcome!

  • @ChefTips one more thing, how do you crack an egg with one hand?

  • @MrKillerrellik2008 Practice! :)

  • i adore ur cooking style chef!!!! keep posting new video please.. ;)

  • tanks man

  • if putting in paprika and onion, what goes in first?

  • @oldschoolappel

Onion would go first with the butter or oil. Then you could add the egg and sprinkle in the paprika for some color.

  • will this work with non shredded cheese? because i only have those singles slices..

  • @yugichris123 WELL WHY DONT YOU JUST CHOP UP THE CHEESE SLICE?

  • Thank you so much there was only eggs and cheese in the fridge and some salot, and peeper then i said why not make a cheese omelted then i learned it from you i had around 3 of them

  • @dottiestcrayon Good to hear! Thanks for commenting!

  • Will it work the same if oyu have a regular spatula?

  • I made this for my girlfriend in the morning, she loved it!!! Thanks a lot :)

  • Gonna try this in a couple minutes. Thanks.

  • @thebigguy508

Hope it turned out for you! If not, practice, practice..... =]

  • @ChefTips It came out great. I used milk instead of water to make it fluff :P

  • @thebigguy508

    Milk works too! =]

    Thanks for your feedback.

  • it looks very complicated,

  • Thanks, tried it and worked like a dream.

  • @SolidStick247

Great! Thanks so much for taking the time and commenting.

  • I really wanna make this now... but I don't have any eggs in the house haha but this looks delicious!

  • i just tried this worked out great thanks so much

  • @iamasecretnerd You're welcome!

  • Okay, don;t call me an idiot but when u say cooking school does that mean that you took a cooking class in college because I'm looking forward to becoming a chef when I'm older I would message you but I couldn't find your message button thank you :) Btw the cheese omelet was delicious:)

  • @daretheballoon No, there are culinary schools that are specifically for cooking. Usually a 1-2 year program. Glad you enjoyed the omelet!

  • Good idea to flip it. I usuall used to sprinkle the cheese all over when its flat and don't flip it.

  • Thanks to you, I can now make some tasty fluffy omelets! Thank you so much!!!

  • @IvIadNice Hooray! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • I love how you actually take the time to answer people on here thinks it's great! I first used this video bout a month ago and it came out perfect my daughter loved it! Thank you

  • @jaymee5153 Thanks so much! I try my best, but sometimes I miss a few. :) Glad you liked the recipe!

  • it's sooo awesome because we used a differnt recipie, and we used it every weekend!!! i might post a video on how it was done..

  • Thanks ChefTips! I made my first omelet today from watching your video ^_^

I didn't look professional but it tasted great x3

  • @KiydeX

It will look better the next time you make it. Just a little practice is all it takes! =]

  • can you do the same with 4 egg whites and 1 yolk?

  • @swordofWD

    Sure!

  • is there such thing as a bad egg? because ever since i sttarted using different eggs, my omelets turn out rubbery and nasty

  • @timmythecoon

A bad egg will smell bad. I don't know what would cause them to turn to rubber. Sorry...

  • @timmythecoon you might be cooking it too fast or just overcooking it

  • @timmythecoon You can test the egg before cracking it by placing it in a large bowl of water. If it floats to the top, that means it has air within the shell, and is not good to use. Throw it away. If it sinks or stays below the surface of the water, the egg is good.

  • can i use any cheese??

  • @MiloandOreo

Hello. You can use your favorite cheese if you prefer.

  • i just had one of these but it didnt exactly go to plan

lets just say it turned out to be scrambled egg.

  • @Moviemaker1476

At first you don't succeed... Try, try again. =]

  • mine looked horrible :( but it was nice :)

  • @jcpedorro

    Practice, practice practice....

  • yum that was delicious Chef Thanks

  • @Isaac50527 You are welcome!

  • Uggh I want that omelette.

  • oooo i thoight it said chineace omlet

  • Chef, I have a question: Using this recipe, does the yoke come out runny and a liquid, or is it turned into the omelette itself? What I mean is, if I poke the omelette with a fork, will a yellow liquid come out (not cheese)?

  • @reboh79 The yolk is mixed in with the whites and is therefore cooked into the omelet. You will not be able to poke the omelet and see the yolk run out as you would a fried egg.

  • @reboh79 If you whisk the egg, that's not going to happen.

  • i love ur recipes chef..u r the Best...!!

  • @yin83101 Thank you!

  • his reaction at the end was wayyyyyyy to cheesy

  • @cookiemonsteronthego Cheesy reaction for a cheesy omelet video!

  • Im making a cheese omelette for lunch today for practice because at school we need to make an omelette. Im only 11 aswel (;

  • @SmileyMiley1224 how did it go?

  • Just used this recipe to make my dinner. It was so simple and easy and not to mention very quick. The end result was great and delicious! fluffy aswell :) Thank you very much !

  • @TheRumali212 You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • I just used this video to make my first omelette ever, and the first one didn't fold so well but the only pan i could find was a bigger one so that is why, I'm told it still tasted great. The second one was made in a smaller pan that i managed to find, and it folded perfectly and was delicious, it was the first omelette i've ever eaten either!

  • @SuperGorjess Very cool! I'm glad it worked out for you!

  • WAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOW..... i wana try i wanna try

  • Nice, you da man jason....lol..j/k thanks what type of pan was that..didnt look like a nonstick..

  • @wildshotsintheair It's a green pan, definitely nonstick.

  • just made my 1st omelet thanks to your video so thanks very much really enjoyed it and my omelet too lol

  • Just made my first cheese and ham omelette using your video as a guide. It didn't look as pretty as yours (it got torn as i was taking it out of the pan!) but it tasted good. Therefore, great success!

  • @silentbob82 Glad to hear it!

  • Why dont you add some milk to omlet makes it really good :)

  • hello chef!

how do i learn to whisk faster?

    please help!

  • @whatagleek

Fill a large mixing bowl half way with water. Practice making "figure-eights" with your whisk. Start slowly and then move faster. It won't take long and you'll be whisking like a pro!

  • @ChefTips ty very much chef, this rly helped me out.by the way what kind of cheese can i use?

  • @elodsisc Thanks! You can try this with any type of cheese that you like, but you want a softer cheese that's going to melt well. Good luck!

  • Thank u so much chef :D

  • @Akshayphadke You're welcome!

  • how do you heat the butter without having it get smokey?

  • @WikeddTung

Hello. Heat it on low heat.

  • @ChefTips so low heat until the pan is very hot, then butter. will do! thanks!
