  • This guy is great!

  • What is the Size of this Barton? Tibias sound almost WurliTzer-like, and there must be a Gottfried or Dennison Posthorn in there, very snappy. How many ranks? I'm guessing 17.

  • Hi Justin, We have a 1927 Grand Barton organ in the Capital Theater in Madison, Wisconsin, that accompanies silent movies twice each year.

You can find information about the shows on your web browser by entering : "duck soup cinema overture center"

  • @mooneypete Please understand that this is not Justin's YouTube page. I have not spoken with him since I made the video. Justin may drop by and see the comments that have been directed to him, but I would not hold my breath. Cheers.....

  • You left me speechless,

That was so beautiful, and I am a lover of show tunes,

    Congratulations!

  • Terrific! I'd love to hear more Justin. Have you played any other Barton's?

  • Justin, sounds terrific. Have you played any other Barton's?

  • Impressive performance Justin!

  • Wait- Justin? Haha this is Tim! Haha great job!

  • I have played this organ and I'm only 14. It ha a sound unlike any other I've ever heard. The acoustics are perfect. any deviation of location would spoil it.

  • @furrypeanut1 Remember that it was from a very nice theatre, and I imagine it was very good in the original location. I saw it inn the theatre, but I never heard it make a sound.

  • @maplewoodsp Most people that have heard it in both locations swear it sounds exactly as it did in the Indiana Theatre. I dont know for sure, but it definitely sounds nice as is.

  • Oooooh, I've played that organ before! Lots of fun!

  • A truly awesome sound and a very talented player!

  • The organ is an amazing instrument, but don't forget the fantastic player!

  • Ah, I remember when we used that during one of the choir concerts for the Hallelujah Chorus...Kurt Von Schakel was the organist for us. Amazing man, and amazing organ. This organ is one of the main reasons I miss being in high school, with the other being in the choral department there.

  • is that a winded console? and original relay? That sounds great.

different looking decor on the console. Other then that it looks similar to the lay out on the barton in the Redford Theater in Detroit. Thanks for joining my page Maplewoodsp I will soon have video of me at the original console from the Fisher wich is the defunked Detroit Theater Organ Society whos looking for a new home for the organ i will be going there tomarow to shoot more video

  • I don't think it has wind at the console, and the relay is the ultra-modern stuff. I was at the DTOS in 1967, and I have a number of good audio tapes from that convention. Fantastic organ!!! I have lost my favorite of Don Baker playing that instrument.

  • This does indeed have wind to the console. The relay is a Z-tronics and the combo action is Trousdale.

  • @maplewoodsp Actually, the console is still wind. And the relay is Z-Tronics, I believe. Great to see that wind can still be kept in consoles and the organs still considered "first rate". The Warren Barton is a first rate installation in every way.

  • @maplewoodsp The console IS winded. But, only the generals and tabs.

  • @Marshall7302 Actually, it does still have wind in the console, but the relay is electronic (Z-Tronics), and a Trousdale combination memory system replaced the setter boards.

  • Fabulous sounding organ. We have similar instruments in the UK but they never seem to sound as rich as the US ones.

  • @theatrone Thanks... I have heard the Blackpool Wurlitzer for a few moments on my way to the top of the tower. I would like to hear more UK instruments.

  • Its mostly to do with registrations. I was at a dennis james concert a few years ago at howden le wear, and he made the wurlitzer sound just like one of them big american beasties!

  • @bmhall100 What a coincidence. I know Dennis James from years ago at Indiana University, and I returned from a business trip today in Derby and London UK. I did not know about an organ in Howden-le-Wear. I know about one in

    the Burton Town Hall.

  • Theres theatre organs all over the place in the uk, its getting to them. There are alot in peoples homes.

  • Bravo, super !

  • One of my very favorite organs. This thing is an absolute honey!

  • Sounds great! That's a great sounding organ and venue!!!
