  • Higher quality version added to the video responses

  • It's strange that the uploader is being hated!

  • This is a Liszt Transcription. Horowitz also "improved" it on some points. listen to Horowitz version. Almost the same.

  • In these days Arcadi Volodos is the godfather of all pianists!

  • these comments are something else

  • Amazing

  • How can you dislike skill like that it would take any of yall 8 nths to learn half of what he did!

  • that was awesome and bad ass i must say

  • if you motherfuckers are ignorant enough to wonder if this is the original version and ask for the sheet music, then there's no possible way you'll be able to play it. don't bother trying and get off the fucking internet you pieces of shit. volodos can play the piano blindfolded and backwards better than you could if you dedicated your life to it

  • man i wish i could do that....might take 20 yrs though.....

  • Well... Thats the best piano playig i've ever heard. But only if he improvised the style.

  • "Now that I'm warmed up..."

  • Comment removed

  • I hav a couple questions, is this the actual version that mendelssohn wrote? And where can i get the sheet music for it?

  • @davidyu08 i have a classic song book from 1936 of Mendelssohn's Wedding March. Interested?

  • @Ehud2221 maybe, is this the mendelssohn version? or did volodos improvise? thanks

  • @davidyu08 I haven't looked at it in a while, nor have i played it, but It's the piano solo. I'm pretty sure it is Mendelssohn version, but if not im sorry for the misguiding information. I'll get back to you in a few days.

  • Genio.

  • Fantastic!!! WOW!!!!!

  • Penso che dopo 1 marcia nuziale così eccitata gli sposi vadano a letto subito, senza fare neanche il matrimonio. Salute!

  • Just one question: Is he improvising?

I would be really happy to get those notes!!!

  • @hemcy16 not improvising, his notes are pretty easy to get online

  • Arcadi, I really appreciate you and the way you play and feel the piano... and there is no but in the sentance..

  • sorry but the best in the world is still hamelin

  • Ibna

  • hahahahhaha how can people reach such a level .. still so stunning how you get at that level !

  • Opus???

  • That piano just had the best sex of it's life

  • I would like to think that one day after tons of practice, ill be able to play half as good :)

  • @ Uploader

Mendelssohn is not an important composer for you? Oh, okay. Wow.

  • he plays better than me , around 123456789 times only, not a joke.

  • Comment removed

  • Cool as hell.

  • 4:27 "im awesome, truth?"

  • 'In my opinion', thats pretty damn impressive

  • volodos or hamelin... who gives a shit, enjoy the music and STFU! Both are great pianists and have their own styles, to each its own. Like one, like the other, or like both (like I do) and enjoy. That's it... no need to bash on others "OOOOOooo Hamelin has better techniques.." you guys sound like a bunch of fucken ignorant kindergardens STFU!

  • @Damgoodballers8

    well said :D !

i like both of them ^^.

i talked with volodos in real life :D. so now i need to talk with hamelin and i can die in peace xD

    lol

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!

  • You spelled Mendelssohn incorrectly. If you're going to make outrageous claims, at least, get your spelling correct.

  • @SnowEMountain If you're going to be a pompous dick at least make sure your grammar is correct. You don't need that many commas in your second sentence.

  • @cziffra1980 owned

  • @cziffra1980

what is wrong with u no need to be mean to a great composer like Felix Mendelsshon!

  • @cziffra1980 I don't care if you think Mendelssohn plays worse than your Grandma's doctor, thank you so much for uploading :)

  • @cziffra1980 wow talk about hostility.

    shows how immature you are

  • @cziffra1980 Well in that case you must not be aware of the fact that Mendelssohn is the reason that Bach's music came alive 100 years after his death. We wouldn't know of Bach's music if it weren't for Mendelssohn.Does that make him important now ? Or are you going to say that Bach isn't important enough too ? Then you are going to leave absolutely no doubts about the fact that you don't know nothing about music history. (and by the way volodos is by no means the greatest living pianist)

  • @cziffra1980 i did not say it was lost , just that mendelssohn made it popular and more accesible to the people. And that had huge implications. Anyway mendelssohn is considered as a great romantic composer in general. But even if you dont see that (or cant see that) you must agree that he is at least an important person in the history of music. And i dont like the fact that you deliberately spell his name incorrectly.Shows that you are stubborn and think like a little child.

  • @cziffra1980 You're an idiot. Excellent video regardless.

  • @cziffra1980 If you say Mendelssohn's not important, then why did you even post a video of his music?

  • So where can I get the sheet music for this? I know its a Horowitz transcription that Volodos did his own way, but is there a transcription of Volodos' edition?

  • bravo! how great is thy God for giving talent to a person like you.

  • can anyone em@il me the sheet music, i spent hours looking for it but cant find any. My email is DunNotCome@live.com THANKS A LOT!

  • I've never actually heard of this guy...But dude's nuts. Awesome.

  • and wot exactly makes him the greatest living pianist !!? his virtuosic repertoire ? He'd be much more successful playing in a circus.

  • To every single one of the 72 wise-ass, wish-they-were wanna-be's that 'disliked' this video, think of the person you love most in the world. Now, FUCK THEM! and FUCK YOU too. You jealous cunts. You're retards and your parents are probably retards too.

  • Hard version, but very well pleyed!

  • like Cziffra :)

  • like Ciffra :)

  • So what'd you do yesterday?

Oh, nothing much, just went to a friend's house where a guy called Volodos was playing the Wedding March on a piano...you know, crazy things peolple do.... You?

    ......

  • 72 people loves justin bieber

  • Who made this transcription??

  • @gilcatalina I'd like to know also. When I first saw this video I thought it was Volodos' transcription, but I think not, since I believe I have heard other people play it.

  • @gilcatalina Ah, I figured it out. Apparently it is Liszt/Horowitz, per another video on YouTube.

  • Nossa eu estava treinando aqui no meu quarto uma versão bem básica dessa peça para um casamento e depois que assisti esse vidio... nossa agora vi que eu preciso treinar muito mais.

    kkkkkkkk

  • is he married

  • who transcripted/arranged this wedding march?

  • Comment removed

  • 72 people are death.

  • He's a fair pianist, but so many completely blow him away - Argerich, Valentina Lisitsa, Mario Polinni ...

  • @7777Scion you forgot hamelin i think he's most tecnically best but i like volodos

  • It's so pleasant watching the ease with which everything is played ... everything is popping in to place with as little force as possible... amazingly fun to watch...

  • Whose transcription of the Wedding march did he play?

  • those thirds at 2:59 omggggg lol

  • @Imxtoeknee I know right?!?!?!?!?! its fucking ridiculos.

  • So Good I play Piano but really i suck

  • i so wanna be that piano. then i can die in peace.

  • Wow he can come play in my house anyday... That wasn't mean to sound in any way sexual! Shame on you...

  • holy shit how can u do this

  • That was absolutely AWESOME to the max! I loved it! Wonderful arrangement (I'm assuming it's an arrangement) and phantasmagorical playing.

  • Amazing, is it Horowitz transcription?

  • SUPERBO!COMPLIMENTI!

  • could you please sent the sheet of this song for me. my email: bunheo_giobo@yahoo. thank you very much :D

  • C est très impressionnant ! Encore bravo!

    Musicales salutations

    Esté, compositeur

  • greatest living pianist? lets not say that but great* cuz theres no such thing as greatest or best of something! each pianist is given their special talent in it! i'm pretty sure you guys all know what i mean.

  • @bboymyung Not true at all. The fact that so many living players have nothing individual or 'special' whatsoever is exactly what makes volodos stand out. You may not see him as the single greatest but there are very few living pianists who can really be regarded as merely 'different' rather than lesser artists. Volodos is one of very few pianists who actually has something of his own.

  • @cziffra1980 one of the few..yet you say the greatest living pianist.. then why not change it to one of the greatest?

  • @johnster123 Because I believe he is THE greatest. Easily the greatest I have ever heard in a concert hall. And no, I'm not claiming to be the voice of God, but I am the guy who uploaded this video- hence the statement of what I believe to be the case. Wouldn't it be a rather tragic world, if everyone always had to preface any statement that contains so much as a hint of subjectivity with "in my opinion"?

  • @johnster123 'In my opinion' people should just say what they believe, without constantly wasting everyone's time by stressing that it's only 'in my opinion'- as some kind of tedious and repetitious boast about their humility. Unless you're dealing with a true imbecile, 'in my opinion' should be taken for a given.

  • @cziffra1980 Sorry, I should really stress that I'm not seeking to imply that you're an imbecile in that last sentence, btw

  • @cziffra1980 you uploaded the video, you believe he is the greatest...i wonder how the composer played the song......heyy lets bring liszt in here!

  • @johnster123 > And of course, you've listened to all pianist on earth to say that Volodos is the Best?

people watch and love a song, this is the best of the world, they watch a tv show they love, it is the best of the world, they eat a sandwich they love, its the best of the world... Come on, gain some perspective...

Volodos is one hell of a pianist, but even him would laugh if you'd say to him he's the best... Stop acting like everything is submitted to gradation.

  • @Nightmare94170 Wrong person, i was of course responding to cziffra1980

    :)

  • @cziffra1980 Speaking of stupid, have you ever heard someone say 'in my personal opinion'? In MY personal opinion that's ridiculously, ludicrously redundant and repetitive. Come on! Who's opinion would it be?

  • @johnster123 cuz u're dumb house-trance-chunky - what criterias do u need to meter the best pianist? Speed? Accuracy? Ideal tone control? Volume control?

In every field there is a different pianist who is "da best".

Speed and accuracy - Voldos is the best for now, so listen more such music to learn howto differ between shit and piece.

    OR - stfu&gtfo.

    WBR _)

  • @cziffra1980 rubbish bboymyung has it spot on

  • @cziffra1980 Greatest pianist ever? are you retarded? This fat ass pompous bastard would be eaten alive by Marc Andre Hamelin, THAT ONE is the most gifted pianist that still lives!!!

  • @JOHNNYWADTON Hamelin has a very ordinary sense of sound and no particularly remarkable gift for bel canto- even by today's standards. Fine if you like solid playing, but the only respect in which he is terribly outstanding is his speed- not his sound.

  • @JOHNNYWADTON Words of wisdom: No one cares.

  • @bboymyung I must say that his parallel octaves are insanely accurate and FAST

anyone who can turn the wedding march into a virtuosic display has something to offer

    this guy is crazy good

  • @bboymyung yea i do some are technically gifted some are musically gifted, some play better genres of piano music even between composers styles

  • Alexander Gavrylyuk played this during his encore yesterday at Hollywood Bowl.

  • Superb! Brava!!

  • perfect

  • genious

  • no se mucho de piano estoy aprendiendo algunas cositas pero me quito el sombrero delante de este señor, es muy diestro con los dedos mis respetos para el

  • haha, imagin you invite a pianist for your wedding and he plays this!!!

  • it gives me a feeling that.... a groom is driving at 280km/hour cos he's freaking late for his wedding ceremony.

  • danggggggggggggggggggg

  • wow :D

  • This is what it sounds like when a serious musican is having fun! Wow! Great job!!!

  • wouldnt it be funny if this was a competition and the lady had to play after him! she would be thinking "Holy Crap!"

    He is AMAZING

  • There are Volodos and Hough---the rest are like the horses trailing Secretariat in the Belmont.

  • How on earth did this get 63 thumbs down? Those have to be 63 of the most ignorant motherfuckers on the planet.

  • @evolve749 Maybe The One That Gives Thumbs Down Is Jealous . .

  • @evolve749 Maybe those people do appreciate Volodos' playing, but do simply not like what he has done with the piece. They may hate the variations.

  • @evolve749 those who are jealous of the red in the background whom has just proposed to

  • @evolve749 maybe they just have different tastes and didnt like the song

  • @evolve749 To be honest I find the 1490 who think he is 'greatest living pianist in the world' should go and listen to Marc-André Hamelin. Although I do like Volodos rendition of Liszt's Hungarian rhapsodies. Still, nice Mendelssohn all the same.

  • I m sure that if i try, i ll play like him :P

  • the colossus of Volodos ;)

  • is this an arrangement by Horowitz?

  • @wattever333 Ha ha ha !! good!!

  • Just the best, period. Technically, musically, expressively, creatively, and having-fun-with-the-instrument-wise. This great master is in the league of Horowitz, Rubinstein and Richter, but somewhat surprisingly receives proportionally much less recognition.

  • Listened to this again today- what playing! Love the smile at the end too.

  • just one word.....AMAZING!

  • Wow. I'm completely speechless! That is phenomenal. What a privilege to have such a master in your home!

  • the best.

  • volodos is impressive!!!!

  • that woman had better put out for him after that amazing performance

  • @guycrosswell or at least give him a hug.

  • In his early career Vladimir Horowitz was such a virtuoso that his audiences demanded freak performances like this. This is one of Horowitz's many transcriptions of famous works that he played to entertain those who liked this sort of thing. Volodos with his unbelievable technical virtuosity has decided to eventually play all of them. In reality he plays them better than Horowitz did. You just have to compare the two of them playing a few of Horowitz's transcriptions to hear the difference.

  • @gerryrains ha i thought he was coming up with embellishments on the spot just to keep from being bored

  • this is what marriage really sounds like

  • He's the best there is.

  • this is so nice

  • what!? ... don't understand ... And why? ...

  • SEI UN GENIOOOO....COMPLIMENTI!!!!

  • Wow he's so accurate and fast and plays the main tune in the left hand too! Wow he's talented! =S I wish I can play like him when i grow up. =)

  • Like the shelves of old books gives it the atmosphere

  • Doesn't matter how many times i watch this, will never get tired of it.

  • Dio solo sa perchè Volodos esegue queste cagate! Che altro dire........ Volodos coglione....................

  • Dio solo sa come si fanno ad eseguire delle cagate del genere! Che altro dire........ Volodos coglione..........

  • fuck!!

  • bloody brilliant!

  • Huh... Has the lady in red accepted the proposal? :-))

  • On będzie grał na moim weselu :D

  • i think just only he know the finger work in his song....haha

  • shut up i'm gonna spam you @singingfeline

  • This is Volodos style, to play staccato.

  • too much staccato. i prefer the flowy-er version.

  • @mauderated you're right, as i think about it...

I thought the music was an octave higher when it starts the main theme too??

  • can he come to my house next?

  • No. He's comming to me.

  • oh my God

  • I shall faint...

  • Man, you need help.

  • that's not very nice

  • breathtaking! and so effortless too!

  • is this the actual version of mendelsohn's wedding march or is this Volodos' transcription?

  • Transcription

  • I think I might have a transcription on my computer

if you message me, I think I might try to locate it and send it to you.

Its rather difficult. I tried doing it myself, but that was 3 years ago.

    but yeah

  • So what'd you do yesterday?

Oh nothing much, just had Volodos over playing a little Mendelsohn Wedding March. You?

    .......

  • -.-

  • @archbold1206 Too bad that most of people doesn't understand what kind of honour that is.

  • i'm speechless

  • I feel tear in my eyes, such a nice interpretation! Love his art!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow this guy is great!!!!

  • Porrrrrrrrra....esse cara deve até transar com o piano....puta que pariu....que loucura..............

  • One of my favourite pianists.

    Incredible performance.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • A genius at work! Nothing more to be said!

  • wow. the lady looks like my first piano teacher from berkeley :)

  • @JESUSlives54

    Good on ya, mate.

by the why, jesus doesn't live.
