  • Nice! I like your voice and your uke skills! This song makes me sad too. I always play it on New Years Eve & New Years Day.

  • @lasquid That's genius. I think I'll do a proper recording of this today.

  • @JadyLester You should!

  • my dad is allways listening to this video and he wants me to learn how to do it on the ukelele :)

  • @cookypinapple That made me smile! :) It's a pretty good song to start out on, because it's only three chords. Just get the hang of the change-ups on the verse, chorus and bridge, and you're good!

  • you have a beautiful voice and i really enjoyed your version of an awesome song

  • I love this song. I don't cry when anyone else plays this, but I feel your emotion and get misty when I listen to your version. =)

I hope you are on the healing path.

    -Much love.

  • Your voice is like honey being poured in my ears.

Take that voice and go somewhere amazing with it!

  • How lovely you sound. I was happily impressed. Thank you.

  • I recently rediscovered boingo (thanks to Pandora). I hadn't really listened to them since the mid 80's.

You did an amazing job on this song. Danny would be proud! You made me tear up. (not easy to do)

You have inspired me to work this song up for mandolin.

Just want to say thanks for a beautiful version of an amazing song!

  • I first saw this video back when you originally uploaded it and I haven't listened to Oingo Boingo in years, and you reminded me again of how much I love them. God bless you and Danny Elfman!

  • Awesome job..very beautiful voice...my hats off to you!!! Danny would love it!

    Loved it!

  • I toured with Boingo and this is a real refreshing take on one of my favorite songs. This is one of my favorite versions ever.

    Thanks!

  • Simply beautiful. Me like-ee.

  • i should sing danny

  • fenomenal!

  • Well I was just looking for the original song and this came up, but neat. Nice job.

  • Magic.....................

  • Beautiful voice!!! and i love ukulele!!! I've done a song with didge 'n' ukulele in my last cd. Nice to meet you...GGGGGianni

  • Wow, I really can't believe you're not out cutting records. I like this more than the cover in the movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer from the early 90s. I'm picky about female voices, but yours is very nice. I'm also one of those people that gets pissed when someone messes with a song I love, but I really like this. I'd bet Danny Elfman would agree if he could hear it.

  • Beautiful! :))))

  • You did great !!!! Really Good!! Bravo-Bravo--xo & Roses to ya Kid.

  • You did great... Bravo... Bravo xoxo & roses..

  • Totally awesome

  • This is actually a somewhat difficult song to sing, and you executed it perfectly. And the correct accompinament (not the best speller) choice. I thought it sounded beautiful with the guitar, but it sounds much better with the ukulele. Seems to me if I remember correctly, that was the instrument it was intended for when Oingo BOingo wrote it. And your voice is just wonderful. GREAT JOB!

  • thanks so much.

  • Very very nice! I like you.

  • muito legal...

  • I really enjoyed your performance. So many times people post things and I'm left to wonder, "What were they thinking?!?" In your case, it was the opposite. You have a lovely voice and you executed the part very well. I especially liked your effortless slur upward on the word "dream" in the chorus. It's actually superior to the original in my view. In the original you can hear Danny Elfman straining to make it happen. When done with ease, the line takes on a whole different character.

  • @1769valeterrace great comments, mainly regarding to the "dream" part...

  • It's like, we could date some time if you're free! I really mean it!

    Incredible awesome nice job!

  • 4 people really have no heart.

  • Really well done! It's nice to see a complex band reduced to the basics. You did so and retained all the beauty of the song

  • love it! beautiful version :)

  • aw, so night to see a song sung so well. ;) <3

  • omigosh thats awesome = )

  • Wow, that's REALLY beautiful...

    I'm thrilled

  • Your video affects me. I love you kiddo! Thank you. Pay it forward.

  • Thank you Thank you Thank you!

  • Hi, I love Oingo Boingo and I love your version of this song. Your style of playing really suits it. I play a bit of guitar and am thinking about getting a uke as I've had a fondness for them for years now. Can I ask though, what type of ukulele is it you use on this video? Would it be soprano? Was it stupidly expensive, or is your playing that makes it sound so beautiful? Take care, and keep 'em coming. All the best, Graham

  • very good cover. kudos to you

  • Very nice...

  • One of my all time favorite songs... Done SO beautifully!!!!

  • Danny's sweetest and you did it beautifully.I understand how your emotions might overwhelm you. I gave Danny a painting back in '91..it's at deviantart search okpolosi :) it's entitled "A Place in The Stars" ( for when you get old )

  • You are so earnest you break my heart.

Beautiful. Brave. Don't ever stop singing, please.

  • Wish i'd found this sooner, i love the original, it's absolutely timeless ... but your tribute, well the stripped down & raw nature of this is beautiful. thanks for sharing

  • Absolutely beautiful. This is my favorite song of all time, and your rendition has a sweetness and innocence to it that reminds me of my younger days as a Boingo fan back when they were still together and touring... thank you.

  • Just came across your video today, liked it very much. Reminds me of the version that runs during the end credits of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (the movie, not the tv show). Really, really nice job!

  • sally's song, then another from elfman (close our eyes) then TMBG?! you're just cool for playing those songs, good memories XD

  • girls who can play the Ukulele are so sexy!

  • I was listening to the Oingo Boingo original on the Home Again album (for the first time in a long time) and came here looking for it and found your cover. A very good, mellow version, that captures the wistful emotion/feel of the original. Very good job.

  • Enchanting performance! I was just reminded of this song this morning and stumbled across this video in a quest to scratch a musical itch. I like your version! And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who gets a bit misty singing certain songs.

  • I still mist up every time I listen to this song...And this version is just beautiful! Thank you LadyLester reminds me Of Concerts gone by!!! Much respect.

  • This is my favorite Boingo song and you really did a great job with it. You sing it beautifully. It brought a little tear to my eye :P

  • Tearing up...gorgeous. Thanks, lovely voice, and ukele playing.

  • Me being a complete loser, I immediate-ly thought of "50 First Dates" when I saw this vid. Now what's that candy-bar kids today mention when they wanna say "good job" without looking dumb?

  • Very nice, darlin'. :-)

    Make the seconds count.

  • This is a great rendition. It is very heartfelt. Although I like the original, it never struck me this way. I try to maintain a tough exterior, but whenever I watch this, my eyes water a bit. I wish you well. Jeff K.
