  • i luv ur eyes

  • what is the difference between power foundations and regular powders? thanks so much!

  • @likecrunchyness i think powder foundations are meant to cover more and to be worn as a foundation while powders can be used to just finishing or worn alone...

  • seriously, i saw your youtube when i was watchin one of atteyas videos,

and i had to click on ur thumbnail

    YOU.ARE.BEAUTIFUL!

  • Can you take a liquid foundation and put it in a spray

  • @burpleful Hmm, i don't think so. They might be a little to thick.

  • THANK U AGAIN.

  • @JJackeeeeee :-)

  • Love it! I really appreciate the visual aids on the types of finishes....

  • @tonjay2002 Thanks!

  • @ariagia Thank you!

  • i wish i could take u with me to the store.

  • lol

  • hey erin...i am making a request for a video on how to highlight under the eyes as well as contouring...I really want to try it out but have no clue where to begin...do you have any tips?

  • Hey there. I made a video about this a few years ago. Go to my homepage and search, you'll find it!

  • Hi this is not a foundation question but a moisturizing question. I recently bought MAC Prep+Prime Skin Base. I apply a small amount w/a foundation brush. I like it bec it instantly removes the shinyness on my face but it's a 1oz pump bottle for that MAC price (LOL). Is there anything else you can recommend that is similar to it but cheaper.

  • This is what I use its only $18, M·A·C Matte adds a sheer, no-shine matte texture in one smooth layer. May be used on bare or made-up skin apply over the entire face or in the T-zone to reduce the appearance of shine. Or Mary Kay $15 Absorbs oil and helps control shine for at least eight hours. And you can reapply it throughout the day even over your foundation. Hope this helps

  • @ Wlk4acure thx. that was helpful!!

  • Erin,

I was told that African American women should not use liquid foundation only creams what do you think? Does it matter? Also, is there a makeup compariable to 4ever that is cheaper?

  • Hello Erin...I've been wearing a particular brand foundation 4ever and I've recently noticed that w/ the season change my undertones have changed, which I realize is normal, however upon switching tones in makeup I just can't seem 2 achieve the look that I used 2 have. Would u recommend blending both tones? say 4 ex: MAC nw45 & nc50 MUFE 178 &175. I appreciate ur time and response. U btw r AWESOME!!! Thanks

  • amazing Erin!

  • u always droppin knowledge thnx :)

  • Is it necessary for a pro. MA to carry all high end foundation and powder. Will potential talent freak out if I pull out a Milani concealer or powder. Will I get humiliated if I pull out a concealer palette I got from Coastal Scents. Isn't it really about knowing your craft. I know folks that literally spend hundreds of dollars on makeup and don't have a clue what the hell they're doing but feel special cause everything in their kit is NARS, M.A.C. & MUFE. I just don't want to get clowned

  • Not at all! If you are really concerned, just transfer them into travel sized containers and let everyone wonder what you're using. People are sometimes too pressed on the brand and not what the product does. I'm not sure why people do this, but to each their own!

  • Hello, you look very pretty in this video, I like your videos. I am new to the videos and would love if you could view mine and give me a quick comment of advice.

  • i used to hate my Fix Powder but now I have hit pan on it bcuz i can't stop using it. I realized that paired with Fix Plus it gave me the look that i absolutely love

  • lol Yep Fix + works wonders!

  • hey hey ima guy and i want i very very natural and almost looks like im not wearning any m.u. at all but i want a full coverage and doesnt look cakey. how do i achieve that?

  • Use a super light foundation and use it only on areas where you need coverage. Maybe you should try a water based foundation.

  • try a powder foundation like pur minerals it gives pretty good coverage and it controls oil ima guy and i use that a cheaper option is maybelline pure stay powder it gives medium coverage and its decent if u have dry skin you can try loreal true match but anything full coverage will show because ur face will be to perfect unless u contour so its not all ONE solid color

  • Thank you soooooooooo much. I havetruly learned a lot from you.

  • So happy to help!

  • Whats the best way to set these foundations?!? what are the best powders to use with liquid, cream, etc...should it be loose powder, mineralized, etc...

  • Sure!

  • Wow, you have done a lot of work for us. Thanks so much.

  • @nmc37, you are so right. A lot of work she did. Thanks Erin!

  • Thank you!

  • Thank you!

  • I am looking forward to hearing about your makeup artist foundation recommendations. I'm trying to build my kit and I always enjoy hearing your opinion.

  • Thanks! There are a few staple brands that are definitely worth mentioning!

  • great video! x

  • Thank you!

  • Thank you for this information!!! You are awesome. Thanks for the time and love you put into your informational videos!!! We greatly appreciate it :)

  • Thanks so much! ;-)

  • good video kept me interest ...loved that comparison....oil and cake icing lol

  • lol it was the first thing that popped into my head!

  • Girl........you are the bomb diggity, and so knowledgable!!! I always have my pen and paper when you do a video. Thank you for this....love learning about foundations. Keep 'em coming!!!

  • Aww thank you!

  • Thanks for this vid...extremely helpful.

  • Great! No prob.

  • What category would you put the MAC MSF's in? The ones that come in dark, deep dark, etc? Are they considered a foundation and if so light coverage, medium, heavy, etc?

  • They are more of a pressed powder that gives light to light-medium coverage.

  • Hi Erin, Luv your vids. Need help regarding Primer. Do you apply moisturizer 1st or primer 1st, then makeu?

  • Thanks!!! Moisturizer first, then primer, then makeup!

  • Excellent!

  • "don't do that ... just, just don't!" lol that was funny!

  • LOL

  • LMAO at 9:30 ... i wont try it hehe ^^

  • Thanks Erin. Could you do a vid on Luminizers and Highlighter products for women of color! It's a challenge! I recently got sold something Madonna uses. The lady swears everyone could use it. I'm take it back because it looks like something I bought from Sheishido years ago.

  • Great idea!!!

  • Ok, the only foundation I use is fromillamasqua and its not matte, and thats the only foundation I use wheneevr I go out for whatever occasion, i cant afford to buy different kinds of foundation for different occasions lol! am i the only one like this?

  • lol nope, that's completely normal. Most people only use one foundation and try something new when it runs out!

  • the reason why people want to be lighter in the eastern countries is because in the old days people qho had tans worked in the fields and were poor and the rich empress obviously didnt work in the fields so they were pale

  • It's true. People in the east relate the colour of your skin to your status. It's not true, but that's still how people think.

  • Gotcha. Thanks!

  • Great job!! I love this series and as a makeup artist I don't feel that I can ever learn enough about foundations and all that entail!!! Foundation has been my biggest fear but it is the "foundation" of my work and I can't wait to view the rest of your vids!!!

  • Exactly!! Thank you!

  • you are sooo informative its great i love your videos

  • Thank you!

  • Dior doesn't have spray foundations for chocolate people. They are very light.

  • These foundations are kinda rubbish anyway. It feels like you're using a body spray on your face lol.

  • @mzkwan yeah i found that out a few days ago... its annoyed me just a lil. but I did get some mascara..it was ok

  • Oh okay. I remember seeing them in Sephora but didn't remember what the shades were.

  • Thank Erin!

  • No problem!

  • I really loved this video!

and you are really funny :)

  • lol thank you!

  • OMG thank you thank you thank you

  • Glad to help!!!!

  • thanks for the info- have been using liquid foundation think am ready to try the creme- wish me luck am going foundaiton shopping in the morning

  • Me too. I want to try cream, but I ave soo many backups. I'm waiting to finish a bit.

  • grrrrrrrrrrrr I have to wait until next week. I want to try to Queen collection from covergirl got to wait till I head to the city cant find it any where in my town

  • Yeah it's pretty good!

  • Purchased the compact foundation in the Queen collection #520 toffee at walgreens and I love it so far. I wore it yesterday as a base and added finished it with loreal true match N8 for a fuller coverage. Original price was 10.99 less $1 CG coupon and $3 walgreen coupon-yeahhhh me. The color I choose was picked for me on the CG site, I am also going to try another shade which was recommended to see how it goes.

  • Good video.

  • great vid! always so thorough!!

  • I was thinking about spraying directly on my face. hahaha. I was hoping you would but that warning out...but hey if they are feeling frisky go right ahead. Hot ghetto mess is all i would say.

    Good video thanks

    ~#1 Army Diva

  • lol. If you try it, it gets in your hair, the wall and it's not even! But go ahead and try it! lol

  • I loveeeee and utilize all 3 finishes - but MUFE FnB for the win!!

  • You are always so thorough in your tutorials, Erin! I feel like buying every product you recommend. Thanks for the vids!

  • Thanks so much!!!! LOL

  • What do you think about Clinique's Even Better foundation?

  • I have never used any of Clinique's Foundations, but I know they have several!

  • Hey girl! What do you suggest for large pores? I used to have really oily skin but now it's normal and I still have large pores. I think it's just genetics, but I hate it! Any suggestions?

  • Hey do u do people's face professionally? I mean like charge people?

  • I haven't in awhile, but yes I do

  • @scandalousbeauty O ok cool cuz I live in ny and I wanted to get my makeup done for my gradutaion in may I know it is really early but I just wanted to make sure. :)

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE MAC Studio Fix Powder! It can look really powdery sometimes, but a few sprays of Fix + and you're good to go

  • Amen to the Fix+!

  • I have one. What is the best way to apply or choose foundations if you have hyperpigmentation? Beside buying 2 foundations which is pricey. I have pretty clear skin and dont need much coverage. If I match my inner face the outer looks wrong and if I go with the color of the outer face then Im too dark.

  • Yep, using two is pretty much all I can think of. Unless you use a dark bronzer around your face, or a powder to match the outside of your face. You should check out the black opal stick foundation video. That might help you out. It's a little dramatic b/c it's full coverage, but it's the same in theory.

  • Great video! :0)
