I remember this as the first time I saw Cosby. I think it was on the Jack Paar show in the very early 60's. The entire routine was televised -- up to the first 3:40 or so of this spot, at least.
Actually, that part was added on in later productions, but the original debut material is in the video portion. But yes, on our vinyl track, it did have the bit about the neighbor.
It may be one of those cultural memories, like the Johnny Carson Arnold Palmer interview that supposedly never took place - but I do remember seeing this entire routine on TV when I was a kid (1960's). I can't remember if it was a Cosby TV special or a variety show, but I definitely remember seeing the part where he turns around and yells 'what!' after being interrupted by God so many times. Comedy Genius!
He only uses the H word a couple times in some other skits. But me an my dad have his work on tapes. I love Bill Cosby's acts! I like the one about getting his tonsils out.
