@mdognirvana Funny you should ask where they are now. Jesse Davis plays in the band "In Union". You should "Like" us on facebook, and follow us on twitter! @InUnion
Foma was a relatively strong CD. This disc however, not so much. That along with a flood of like-sounding bands all fighting for airplay at the time is as good a reason as any why these guys didn't last.
Well, of course, John is drumming for Seether now. He's done pretty well for himself.
Zac produces most of the time I think. He has a great song/vid on here called "Early Morning Phonecall". I remember watching them up in Wichita, KS and locally around Lawton, OK. Good shows!
I always liked this song... I was 23 when this came out. Whatever happened to these guys ? After listening to these guys, I always have to follow up with some Brother Cane... same era... haha
@burge104 that song that was starting at the end was '69 Tea' by Seether - another great song, though not from the 90's era that The Nixons reminds me of.
If anyone is interested, Jesse Davis now has his own production company with some cool new music- you can find him on Myspace, INSOMNIA SOUND! Tell him Georgia said hello!
I finally messaged Zac Maloy! We're from Oklahoma, and my mom was really good friends with the band. I'd been begging her to get back in touch because I LOVE the Nixons, so now she has to!
Not sure what the circumstance is of why they are no longer around, but I would bet that the label dropped them.Whatever it was, its a shame b/c they were a great band with ALOT of potential to greater things. The music industry sucks.
shit happens and people change when they think they are bigger then they really are (ie: scott stapp). not saying it happen to the nixons as well but i was just ging by what i read as to why they werent together anymore. i would love for them to come back.
I mailed these guys a fan letter in 1997, and they sent me free tickets to "Edge Fest". I couldn't go, because I was in the Air Force, so my parents went to the concert, met the band, and told them how much I wanted to be there. The drummer gave them an autographed drum stick to give me (my parents also mentioned I am a drummer), and the band autographed the cd cover & a picture. I still have it framed on my wall. AWESOME GUYS, AWESOME BAND!!!
The album is really good. I recommend it. If you like this, check out a band called Oleander. Theyre really good too. My favorite from them is February Son. Check it out!
what is the song that is starting to play at the end there? O yea, and Nixons rule!!
