  • THIS MAKES ME PROUD TO B A JAMAICAN CITIZEN

  • JAMAICA!!! LAND WE LOVE!!

  • the reason the ethiopian flag is inserted in the video is because of the rastafarian movement. They believe Haile Sallasie spelling?) is god, or at least they used--don't know if they still do.

  • but you're still wrong about ethiopians coming to jamaica for mining. Slaves came from west africa to cut the sugar cane fields. There was no mining going on back then, it was'nt until centuries that bauxite was mined. Slaves came from ghana and other w african countries.

  • When did the spanish bring ethiopians to jamaica? and what did they mine? Wow your knowledge of history is amazing. Imagine that! My history teachers lied to me. They said that the British brought slaves from W.Africa to work in the sugarcane fields. Wow, you learn something new everyday--even distorted history.

  • pennyredfern, There was a small population of African slaves that the original Spanish brought, left in Jamaica. When the Spanish fled they left behind slaves. Some believe this is where the original maroons came from.

  • The slaves the spanish left were west african slaves, ethiopians have no background at all in Jamaican history, take it from me, im a Caribbean History and Archaeology student @ the University of the West Indies. N btw the Ethiopian flag in the anthem seems quite disrespectful, the ratsafarian movement have no major significance in present jamaican lifestyle, im sure every you dont see rastas everywhere you turn
