I think your gas gauge was moving faster than the speedometer.

Gas gauge moved because the gasoline in the tank is pushed away from the float cylinder that gauges the amount of gasoline. He was either driving uphill or downhill, but definitely a different grade in comparison to when he started.

That or he's leaking gasoline. But that's unlikely because the car would detect depressurization in the tank and light up his dash like a christmas tree.

Maybe your thinking of SC1's? They have the SOHC motor which is a lot less powerful than the poten little DOHC they put in the Sx2's...

You do realize that crank HP is different than wheel HP, right? Stock SC2's made 124 TO THE CRANK, which is around 105 to the WHEELS. they also weigh around 2600. Look it up....LOL

The fuel gauge dropped partly because he's accelerating (the gas is forced to the back of the tank), and parly because he's going up a highway on-ramp (i'm guessing here), which also shifts the fuel towards the back of the tank.

I don't think he was ridding the clutch. I think its a stock clutch and is too weak to grab that quick of a shift. Not saying the shift was FAST, just that the clutch sucks.
