The G5? Maybe for a fischer price version. If you go in that direction, why not make KITT a Dodge Neon and completely destroy any hope of movie franchise.

My vote would be the Mazda RX-8. That could be the car that the new generation of fans say, "Hey, there goes KITT!"  Just like mine does when they see an 80's Trans Am.

Funny you mention that, I look at the Mazda RX-8 on the streets and in Need for Speed Most wanted and that model has a lot of potential as KITT.

And it's got a rotary Wankel engine as well (and, yes, that's what it's actually called).

If I could afford a car, I'd be after an RX-8.

mjknight, also, you should pronounce it "new-treen-oh", like the subatomic particle. :) It was named by Enrico Fermi, a scientist born in Italy who was rescued from the Nazis by the USA. In Italian it means "little neutral one". It is produced primarily in nuclear reactions, such as reactors, the Sun, and bombs. :) It interacts very weakly with matter and go through the whole mass of the earth without being stopped, there could be neutrinos passing through your body right now. :)

I'm not so sure about the G8 as it is 4 doors, remember, KITT was a 2 door, 4 seat car. I think the closest in terms of current model cars that are Made in USA would be the G5 or G6 (coupe version, not sedan version).
