thoughts from Ontario, Canada! our govt effective shut down the BIG 8 in Windsor. Canadian Content, which at that time was none existent, or really bad music. Windsor Big 8 helped Detroit Motown records. Which was then bought by Universal Studio;s in CA and effectively killed one of the best record label.
I worked at a Rounsaville station in Jacksonville, FL in the early 1980's. It was a dump, and Mr. Rounsaville wouldn't invest a dime in the place. I met Rounsaville once when he came to town. He was an old man who wore a bad wig and made a racist joke about the laborers who built Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta - then repeated it so all his minions could laugh patronizingly again. He must've had something going with WFUN back then, but he'd lost it by 1980.

I remember that night like it was just yesterday that was the day the music on AM radio died for me and started listening only to FM radio. It was strange seeing my old friend Don Wright in this video I had not thought about him in years.

WOW! Just incredable to actually see this. I worked for WFUN back in the day and the memories this brought back cannot be described. Thanks for posting this.

i really liked WYOO U100. that station is fun. they now air Beatles songs since September 16 1976 as KDWB Magic. (like putting on a magic show.)
KDWB sucks since 1976.
