Found one of these out in the carport yesterday, at least I think it was one! It was very tiny though and the colors hadn't come in all the way so I think it might have been a baby or just not fully grown. I let it jump on my hand though, was neat.
If you reduce the size of the abdomen to become obscured by the cephelothorax, and increase the size of the pedipalps, and add the claws to the pedipalps, then a spider becomes a crab. It is remarkable how this species especially retains the appearance and mannerisms of its distant Arthropod cousins.
Thanks, I really appreciate it! There will be plenty more salticids to come.
"Whispering Pines" really is a great song - I had it suck in my head for months before recording my version this summer. Johnny Horton's "All For The Love of a Girl" is another favorite of mine, but I'm not sure if I'm capable of singing/playing that one.
terser, I listened to "All For The Love Of A Girl" I haven't heard it since I was a kid, and I believe you could sing it. It will fit your jumpers. The best to you and God Bless.

Do you find taking pictures more satisfying or videos?

Really great video - thank you (the music too!)! How close is your lens to the spider? At one point it looked like it jumped onto the lens?

Thanks!
Hmmm - not sure about the distance - and inch or two depending on the magnification.
