I think Serra is easily one of the most underrated fighters in the sport. He is extremely well-rounded, and really not that old. I could honestly see him making another run at the title. In my opinion he got screwed on the Hughes decision. Serra was the only one who landed any damage in that fight, and he lost because he got controlled.

what most people missed is the first second of this video. Hughes threw that water bottle to prevent Serra clowning around. Bottle was intentionally thrown so that it was going to miss Serra but get his attention. Serra looks down at the floor and moves to his right ignored the whole water bottle situation and continued on giving his story about ken shamrock. I give props to Serra for not getting distracted by it because it would have never hit youtube if he got distracted

Royce's BJJ was ONE of the things that shaped the world of MMA we have today, but if you talk to guys like Guida, Hughes, and lesnar, their styles are far more inspired by ken's than royce's. simply put they needed each other to get MMA where it is today.

I think Serra is easily one of the most underrated fighters in the sport. He is extremely well-rounded, and really not that old. I could honestly see him making another run at the title. In my opinion he got screwed on the Hughes decision. Serra was the only one who landed any damage in that fight, and he lost because he got controlled.

I couldn't agree more. GSP is a class above pretty much everyone. I believe he is on equal footing with Anderson Silva. It would be kinda nice to see a matchup between those guys, bc GSP is a huge welterweight. I think GSP could take him down and probably finish him. Anderson isn't the best off his back, but George would have to watch out for the strikes early. That could go either way really.

@Tnig01 Silvas reach is only an inch longer than GSP. Look it up. Silva does walk around at over 200 pounds.. but so what? They'd be fighting at middleweight, which is 185 pounds. George is about 195 pounds and fights welterweight. If he put on 10 pounds then both he and Silva would weigh about the same for a middleweight match up. AND, GSP is shorter than Silva, so 205 pounds at his height would make him stronger than 205 pounds on Silvas lanky frame. Size advantage would be negated.

@TylerDurdenK7 Maybe saying Silva isn't the best off his back wasn't entirely true, but I still think the way to beat him is to do exactly what Sonnen did for 4 rounds: Get in his face and aggressive the entire time. Chael beat the shit out of him even on the feet for awhile (knocked him down twice). Unfortunately, Sonnen was on steroids, so that takes away from his performance a tad. I think Belfort could beat Silva though.

But to see Silva overcome all that adversity and still come out victorius with that sick triangle just shows the true heart of a champion. GSP i am not sure he can be in such a tough fight as Silva, he got demoralized in the first BJ Penn fight when he faced adversity. And was Sonnen on steroids for real? is it proven? In that case they should cancel the rematch.
