You don't know what you're talking about. Chevy gives the Camaro a 400-hp V-8 mated to an automatic tranny, and a 426-hp V-8 mated to a manual tranny. Different engines. That's why I specified L99 and LS3 in my last post (pay attention). As for your last post, you're right, but in the sixties, I'm pretty sure whenever they made an SS and a Z/28, the Z/28 was more performance-oriented.

no he is right the auto used the L99 with active fuel management. It shuts off 4 cylinders when using the throttle lightly. The manual is the LS3. One puts out 400 to the flywheel and the other 426 but to the pavement is about the same.

both the z28 and convert. Camaro are on hold while GM gets taken over by the govt. to make hybrids and 4 cyl. cars. There have been many news articles on this. The SS does 0-60 in 4.6-4.7, the 2010 Mustang GT in 4.9 (with 100Hp less), the 2009 GT in 5.1, The challenger RT in 5.9. If your buying these cars for the track the stock speeds mean nothing cause your going to mod. For the real world daily driver they are all close and very nice. Get what you like
