I am a surviver of hurricane andrew. lost family friends, but we must never forget the ppl of new orleans, their spirit and that they still need our help. youtube.com/grammygold2011/fat tuesday
Is rebuilding such a good idea, what with all the rising sea levels and what not? People need to be offered a safer place to live. Man's works can only do so much against the power of nature, isn't the writing on the wall?
I too am from New Orleansand I regretfully must agree with LBAX1400. It's not just crime but generations of politicians who feed on this negativity. New Orleans is a very racially divided city but it's subtle, underground, just scratch the surface. This is just my oinion.
i lived in New Orleans all my life. I spent the first 14 days after Katrina in the city doing rescue in boats, not knowing where my father and children were. I will NEVER forget Katrina. The images here are only miniscule in comparison to what I witnessed...I shall NEVER forget
im from the U.K and visited New Orleans in 2007. I was disgusted to see how little George Bush has done to help rebuild the place. It was heartbreaking to see the empty houses boarded up schools and other buildings. had a fantastic time there as the people have such great spirit. god bless them
maybe it shouldnt take hurricanes for people to comment like this..maybe george bush should look around his country and maybe done somethin. its ashame what happened to new orleans, but that happened becuase of a natural disaster, there are places that looked like that and got no aid
love this video...new orleanians have forgtten tho...its tryly a city full of hate and racial tension- i was there during the mardi gras shooting last week- innocent bystanders injured- why? all i can do is ask why.
Have you moved away from home? I live here in New Orleans myself. Thank God For them Saints though. They realy give us a sence of pride when things were bad . The whole city never identifyed with anything so strongly as that team. Well, God bless.

There will be pain, disaster and suffering, always, but is how we respond to it that matters. It's all that has ever mattered.
May we never see such indifference ever again.

@iangarner18 Blame Nagin and corrupt LA (New Orleans in particular) politics...Bush can only do so much, per the rules of the constitution.

I was near tears as I watched this. How my heart broke for all those that lost loved ones & their homes as well. They are always in my prayers.

The most moving video I've ever seen on uTube. Should be used by the Red Cross to raise funds for disaster relief.
So sad, so uplifting, so beautiful.
