Writing melody takes enormous talent. 99 percent of popular music today doesn't even come close. This is a wonderfully composed song and the movie of the same title is a lot of fun !

The Turtles dvd is great and contains their singles with videos, plus in depth history of the band, by the band.

Guide for the Married Man was directed by Gene Kelly, with Walter Matthau and Robert Morse (who 40 years later plays Bert Cooper on Mad Men).

I saw this when it was originally aired on TV. I think it was on the Smothers Brothers show. They also sang "Happy Together." They were a great group.

This was from the 1967 film Guide for a Married Man and in 1968 the zany The Impossible Years came out. Search for that on youtube. The 60s was a great time to be a teen, I loved it!

@lebow1 It's the theme song for a movie of the same name - A 'sex' comedy consisting of a series of vignettes about relationships and cheating within them -The narrator character probably inspired HOW I MARRIED YOUR MOTHER's Barney.
