I have this phone batt normally lasts 2 weeks (bluetooth off). I don't do much txt so I don't care about that being slo-o-ow. Yes if you pay for Internet access (i don't) you can download ring tones. It does all that I want a phone to do. One complaint occasionally in the middle of a call it reboots. And I hear welcome to Sprint. One thing the vid left out is the Bluetooth Works with my ear-peice and the speakerphone option in the GPS

I absolutely hate this phone. The only thing I like about it is that you could drop it from just about anywhere and it won't show signs of damage.

The absolute worst aspect is the texting, which is horrendously delayed. I can finished typing a message fairly rapidly and the screen will take about 30 seconds to slowly register all the letters I already hit, sometimes messing up.

I'll be upgrading to a Palm Pre when it comes out and will avoid cheap phones for their prices from now on.

it isn't bad. i think it is cool. its slim small and awesome. yeah, some features suck, but volume is very good. the lighting is good, the phone calls are great and if theres no signal theres free roaming. if you don't know waht it is, it is calling with satilites even if there is no signal. i have 1 and it is very very good.i swam with it twice and it still works! seriously!it was on accident but the phone worked.i get cheap ringtones and wallpapers through the internet. i have sprint.its nice.

but someone said that if you turn off the word choice list for the s1 (Go to Settings>Others>Text Entry>T9 Settings>Word Choice List. Turn it off.) it speeds up the texting.

While this phone is decent for someone like my mother, who only uses cell phones to make calls, it's not for me. I'm not a big texter, but I do send the occasional text and am considering another upgrade at full price because the texting on this phone is so unbelievably slow. If you're a rapid texter like me, you will become frustrated very quickly.

I would not recommend this phone to anyone who uses the texting feature. Spend a little more money and get a better phone!

Although I liked what it did for me when I owned it, pretty much every other phone on the market is better than the S1 in some way. I upgraded to the LG VX8700 shine (the flip version) with Koodo mobile, and there is no comparison.

Koodo is actually a pretty good service. I've only been with Telus, Solo mobile and now Koodo, and so far Koodo has had the best prices and plans and reception/service. Koodo is a subsidary brand of Telus, so they basically come with the same reception (which I find very good) and service (decent, better than most other Canadian phone service companies)

The only problem I have with Koodo is that they try to claim that there is no cancellation fee or activation fee with their service, when there really is. If you realize that EVERY phone company has these hidden somewhere, this isnt too much of a problem. Another thing I dont like is the VERY limited selection of phone models, which right now are the LG VX8700 Shine flip, the MOTOKRZR, some lower level motorola flip, and a base model Samsung flip. All have cameras though.

This phone is actually decent....if you don't have high expectations. Seeing as all I use it for is some texting and calling, I think the phone does its job quite well. Sure, there are way better phones out there, but this one is cheap! $114 without a contract at all!

Bottom line... if you're going to text do NOT get this phone. I don't care if it's free. You will end up buying a new one after a few days with this POS once you find out how hard it blows. It takes about 2 minutes for it to recognise the words in "Hi how are you" and show them on the screen.

I just picked one up yesterday and love. Kep in mind i just came from a RAZR which i dropped in the water :( The S1 is sleek and simple, also texting is not a problem like mentioned in the video. Just thought id share.

sure it's nice and small but if you text a lot you'll find yourself hating it in no time. it nearly locks up when using punctuation in T9 and if you happen to be typing really quickly, it takes a lifetime for it to catch up

The cramped finger thing half way through is an exaggeration all you have to do is hold it correctly like you might a iPod nano with the index finger supporting it and you can type fast.

There is a data cable for the microUSB so it isn't just for power.

Probably the Nokia 7250, 5070, 6085, 6070, 6080 (5070 is prob the best one out of them). Those are the good, cheap ones that have most of the features you need and if it gets lost or stolen, it wont be as bad as losing a N95. Hope that helped.
