@leonwiganer Half of those listed are not even flying and they are NOT UCAV... they are UAV. Only the Reaper can be a UCAV but RAF doesn't arm it. As I said before, UK has ZERO UCAV.

In 2011 France spends €39 billion, UK spends £32.8 billion. UK only spends €38 billion in todays money and that is against a weakened Euro thanks to the fuckn Irish. French defence budget will increase 3% to 2014. British defence budget will shrink 8% in the same time.

Admiral Lord West says only 40-50 F35.

@leonwiganer France spends more than UK and has a steady defence budget. UK defence spending will drop 8% over the next 5 years. Britain has ZERO UCAVs at the min and are only getting 40 F-35C that have to be shared with RAF. Only ONE carrier will be fitted with catas and the other mothballed. I suggest you read the White Paper.

No they aren't. Britain will only make a small piece of it. With the cut in orders, it will be lucky if it makes anything at all. You can only afford a handful while France will be flying Neuron UCAVs.

i got good news on it, the program advance, team cooperation is very good and hyper motivate, each one had a good task for what it can do. half developpement is reached, only 3 month delaying before the first fly in 2012. dassault is a good coordinator.

PLus what makes F22 strength is its stealth capabilities overall, it's radar and inner computer porgrams. Nothing of this is made by Bae, and "electronical warfare"is unclear and could be the electronics that controls mechanical parts of the plane only, IDE nothing secret.

Look, if it had been otherwise, USA would sell/give F22 to UK instead of the shitty downgraded export version F35. Is UK building its own 5th generation plane?: NO

It's a commercial deal, not a consortium Those parts are not enough to build a F22 anyways not even part of it: USA buys it to BAE then which is paid for it, he F22 is US property and F22 top-notch technology is US build.

@leonwiganer At the moment EF is leading the MRCA competition true, but we both know that it's never the best aircraft that are chosen, those decisions are political, logistic and financial (plus add some corruption) so those competitions haven't any worth in proving whatever.

My point was to show you, who are believing BAE is 10X better than Dassault, that the rafale being 2 times cheaper in development can concurenciate/beat the EF which proves your assertion about BAE to be wrong

Though the 4-0 and 3-1 rafale victories at aldhafra were reported by Lieutnant-colonel Fabrice Grandclaudon in a press conference. He has no intrest in lying as he let his name known of all (contrary to other rumour spreaders) Plus you can find on the net several pictures of Rafale HUD with an EF being locked.

The rafale was reported to have lost against F22(kind logic) by the same dude, not the contrary.

@leonwiganer I consider Dassault ALONE to have more competence and experience than BAE. Dassault are who made the mirage, mystere and rafale since 50/60's, Mystere has a kill ratio of 8/0 and Mirage have a incredible kill ratio (dnt remmber how much) when involved in israelo-arab conflicts.

But this time Dassault isn't even alone and benefits from the technology niches support of 5 european countries+EADS. In top of that a 2.5 times bigger money pool. No i have no doubt it will be better.

Neuron: Consortium between 6 european powers with Dassault, Saab, Alenia, EADS CASA, EAB, RUAG, Thales, EADS France for a total development budget of 500 million euros.

TAranis: BAE alone developping it for a budget of 180 million euros only. Due to the lack of fundings the next trial phase will be done without any armament (contrary to neuron).

because neuron hasn't tvc an is extremely disadvantaged in dogfight with this design. come on, barracuda has an internal weapons bay, its a stealth drone shaped for stealth but not elaborated. it will serve as model as model for a bigger, supersonic stealth UCAV replacing tornado.

Anyhow, Barracuda already flew with AESA radar and flir sensors independently.

But I was wondering, what about plain studying a Eurofighter derivative UCAV? It is already a computer stabilied, ultra manouvrable craft, you cut cost down by removing the pilot cabin and pilot related systems (oxygen etc), and it has already the size and hardpoints of a normal fighter.
