i have the same camera. u have the setting on close shot...that setting is for up to 18cm,

spend 4000 on a canon hd 5d mark 2 , with lenses , and you get a much better shot , funny the whole svp cam costs the amount of the lens of one of those , your probably looking at more , for the price these are good , but you have to read and use the manual settings and determine what environments are good for it's best uses and works

i got the canon hg10 for myself at a discount rate...love the internal hd but the 24P frame rate, while sweet...doesnt do well with movement or panning...im gonna see if there is anything on youtube with the high end canon you are referring to

i dont have one but i would assume that he has it set on macro when he is trying to take video from a far

i have one and mine works great. try wipeing ur camera lens, maybe its dirty

it is on mountain view...macro is actually pretty good on upclose stuff....do you have this camera? if so, and it works correctly, perhaps i just received a malfunctioning one?
