@passionsfanNBC I think Edmund was so easily manipulated partly because he's little. He's really not too big--the book says that he was only a year older than Lucy. That is to say, if Lucy was five years old here, he'd only be six. xD
The White Witch is one stupid bitch to think that Edmond's brother and sisters would come with him to a castle in the other world just to be going with him because he has a suprise to show them.
@vlvtrp It is a young, nubile 20 year aged tanned and muscular pool boy with tousled thick black hair and it is packaged in a thin white thong for presenting.
Actually, it's not the moviemakers who made this change... it comes from early US editions of the Narnia books, which had several minor alterations from the original UK ones -- among the more notable ones was that the character Maugrim was renamed "Fenris Ulf." (Since 1994, the American editions have gone back to the original name, though.)
So they are actually following the book here, just a different edition.
6:06 Who are they looking at? :o The old man was to the girl's left and she turned to the right. The animation looks spot on from how I first saw this. The blurriness is probably because of youtube's vid quality crappifier.
I remember seeing this when i was little! It's kinda weird seeing this now, but it does bring back childhood memories (mostly of me pretending that my closet was the magical entrance and that i was the Queen of Narnia...I annoyed the hell out of my mom).
When Peter and Susan first walk into Narnia, they do it so nonchalantly.... like it's just another world and nothing special. No shocked reactions, no apologies to Lucy... tut tut. The Queen however is my favorite of the versions of the book. She is so me curial, abrasive and imperious. Very funny!
In the book, when Edmund talks to himself he refers to his siblings as "selfish prigs".
The weirdest thing is that they have different accents and they're supposed to be brothers and sisters. Someone wasn't on the ball when they cast the voice actors or gave them poor, poor direction. I'd say both. LOL. I mean, was Edmund raised in Australia and the rest in America? Maybe it's because he was sent to some special obedience school for acting like such a jerk.
the white witch used to scare the sh!t outta me when i was little. but her little dwarf/goblin/troll driver man is awesome. i love the little grunts and noises he makes.
I just realized after over 20 years of watching this many times... If Edmund wanted his turkish delight and be prince... Then why didn't he tell Peter and Susan that he had been there. Why did he say, it was just pretend...
CS Lewis was brilliant. Loved the analogies the professor gave. Even though simplified in the cartoon, the message still got across.

9:13 they changed the wolf's name? WHAT? That's weird... normally when movies are changed in relation to books they have a reason.
