@Xendrius Since my friend pointed out that the necromorphs look funny, this game ceased to frighten me in the slightest. To be honest the game was scary only at the very beginning, when you dont know what the fuck is going around, after you get your upgraded tech and weapons it just turns into a shooter with monsters instead of humans.

Now im not bashing the game at all, i think the atmosphere is brilliant, and i havent finished playing Dead Space 2 yet, but the beginning is awesome. But what im saying is that you get so much hope in fighting the bad guys, that it just becomes comforting. Im thinking of games like Amnesia or Penumbra, where shit is as tense throughout the game as in the beginning.

This game truly brings back one of the things that are important in a survival horror; the game gives you weaknesses.

Killing enemies is a precision strategy that takes time all while being surrounded. Very good stuff! Btw, watch this again while listening to the Resident Evil movie theme.

Oh, but that regeneration guy was probably the only (scary) enemy I could think of, so cruel to make you have to solve simple puzzles while being attacked by something which keeps coming back to life no matter how much you obliterate it (with anything other than fire and ice)

Dead Space 1 was not in the least bit scary, it made me laugh a bit at the end because of how stupidly powerful Isaac was. Who else punches LIMBS off aliens trying to rip you to threads. But really I enjoyed the series, was a good enough storyline even if it was kinda silly. 2nd one seemed like they tried less on tho.

That's ironic : the most scary moments in the game are when there's absolutely nothing happening. Low blinking lights, creepy sounds, weird messages on the walls, dead bodies, completely crazy half-alive survivors talking weird to you before dying.... ....and a woman talking and singing "Twinkle twinkle little star" sadly in the speakers of the ship. Dead Space, or how to become completly mad and claustrophobic in one lesson....
