you can get get pass the flame thrower with the feather and the boots, you will take heavy damage but it does work.

thanks for this video...i didnt know the swirly sword technique counted as 2 strikes....i was just swingin away and kept dying, i was like wtf so i watched the video and learned and went to fight the boss and 3 swirly sword hits killed it i was like yeahhhhh and i got a beer
